I brought home a tiny baby GBTA from the LFS today...how do I keep it from getting lost in my tank, sucked up in a powerhead etc...? It is 1/2 inch accross...this is my attempt thus far..

I got a small one in a trade -- and dissapeared for oh 3 weeks or more. Out of the blue I found it, removed it to my frag tank (was on a nice little rock for me) and a month later I found the baby it had. It splits like crazy for me.

$9.99...it was a baby had by the GBTA that the LFS had in the tank .....I have a larger one in the same tank...I plan on maybe moving it to a 20gallon but I needed to get the params right first...it has been running empty other than some hermits for a while so I klind of neglect it :-)

clowns 101...pardon my ignorance ,but, what pest anemones have bubble tips? It clearly (well maybe not in the pic..lol) has bubble tips

wow, I just looked up Majano and it does look somewhat like this one except the stalk...good thing it's in a jar eh? I guess I shall wait and see if it "stalks"...thank you

Sorry it took a bit to respond but yes Majanos have bubble tips also.It might be a bubble tip but to me it just seems to be quite odd!But not saying its not possible for it to be!If it was its just one of them things that you dont see every day!

LOL that's not a tiny BTA :) Here's a tiny BTA....

I would recommend you construct either a floating or submersible cage out of plastic mesh to keep him from getting lost. You could also use an in-tank refugium as long as it received adequate light.

I just picked up a tiny rbta from a local reefer about the size of a dollar coin. It's had grown alot already... So hopefully yours is also a small bta...

Make sure your "jar" or any other holding container gets plenty of flow across it...I've lost a few things trying to keep them segregated that way due to not enough flow/water stagnation (probably low oxygen if I was guessing).

I really think thats a majano. Here is some that came with some live rock I got from a friend (then threw away). They do look like small GBTA, but they're evil.

and the head is different also in that the mouth on the Majano is less concealed than that of the BTA. Like less tentacles on the Majano than the BTA...he has settled on the rock over night as I was hoping he would...I'll try for a better pic. Thank you for all of the responses.
