"green carpet" is not a species or a type. Those pics make it hard to make out the species of the anemone.

If you did your research, why did you purchase a couple of fish that aren't appropriate for your CURRENT (( since you seem to like caps )) tank. Your "carpet" would seem to be an S. Haddoni, which (( IME )) Koran angels love to nip at.

If you have to keep your lights on a certain schedule to keep algae at bay, you have a nutrient issue, not a lighting issue.

But, you seem to know what you are doing, so I will leave you to it.

Hmmm... very large, mature maroons in the same tank with other clowns for a year. Maybe the nay sayers should pipe down on the amount of confidence they have and on the condescending attitudes i often see when someone violates some fake rule of consensus. Sure things may change if the maroons pair up and start spawning but they are just as likely to not be a problem. In fact these are likely two large females, guessing that the change from female to male is much more difficult than the opposite. Also let's be honest it is no big deal if things do change either you deal with it or you don't. Spare me the self-serving "œI would never" BS. How about this, we give the reefer a few polite cautions and wish him luck, as some in here have done. Must agree pictures are always nice when you have them.

Im not "naysaying".. People come on the board all the time with claims like this. It is irresponsible to encourage people to put multiple pairs into one small tank. Im not saying that it can't be done. I have never said that. But when someone claims "look I did it, its easy" when all they did was throw a bunch of juvenile clowns together, well thats just not an accurate portrayal of how rarely it works..

There isn't one thread on this board whith strong evidence that multiple pairs can be kept in the same tank for long periods of time.. I have lots of clownfish pairs and I know how aggressive they can be. For the most part they don't even tolerate other fish, sometimes they barely tolerate eachother.. None the less other clownfish.

Again, Im not saying it can't be done.. I have seen it myself.. But we need to be responsible.. Claims like this one by the OP, I beleive are dangerous for other inexperienced reefers.. I wan't people to know my opinion on the subject.. When you buy clownfish you are making a serious long term commitment.. They are not goldfish. You seem to always encrouage this practice of multiple pairs and I just disagree with it in general.

I was in a car accident at 70 MPH where I rolled the car 6 times. I walked away with nothing but a few bruises.

It can be done.

I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Can you house a pair of maroons with a pair of occs? Sure... it can be done. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Yes it is my Sebae and no I'm not a expert and I'm sorry the way I came off just a bad day yesterday family problems so was in a bad mood and I think I took it out wrong so forgive me....but yes I do have a algae problem it has to do more with the position of my tank I think cause it is in the middle of bay windows to the right and left of it and behind it but I have a background in it my Koran really doesn't nip cause he is well feed my biggest problems is my puffer eats my snails lol which no compliant the clowns I guess we will see but it will hopefully work out it has been doing good for over a year and either way I have a backup plan if things go south but there is slot of small spaces my clowns should be able to escape to :) I just am very sorry I guess I was looking for positive and not ready for traditional responses!!! Lol bit thanks guys everythings duelly noted any ideas for the algae though lol!!!

Yeh trust me I won't tempt it I was going to get rid of my maroons for snow clowns but was like these are doing great no reason to separate and I really wouldn't encourage it highly cause I just luckied out and it is very rare I agree just was showing you guys this cause I thought it was cool and never seen anything online about 3 clowns 2 of different species hosting same Anenome

If it's makes u happy that's all that matters looks cool to me who cares about other people's opinions. Yours is the only one that counts have a great day.

The health and well-being of the fishes matters, not what "looks cool" or makes the OP happy, since s/he has a choice in the matter and the animals don't. But at least the OP does seem to have a backup plan and is open to constructive criticism.
