not unless you have been maintaining perfectly stable temperature for an extended period of time.
I have temp swings of 3 degrees on a regular basis and sometimes even like 5. I am not saying this is the best thing for your tank, but my sps are doing just fine. I don't worry as long as its in the 75-83 degree range. I worry if temps get out of this area.
I believe tanks that get used to rock solid temps, have a much harder time dealing with temp swings. This is based on RC knowledge and not real life experience- all of my tanks have had varying temps and have done okay for me.
