My aquarium shot up from 78 to 83. I got a cheep clip on fan and clipped it on the side of the fixture. My fixture generates some heat, I have it facing the length of the tank. I got it back to 77 78 I am doing more top offs about a gallon a day but its worth it to me. Check out this post for more info.

Link doesn't work. An extra fan to move heat from lights can help. I'd prefer this to lights of fsince lights off will stop phosynthesis and the O2 it provides.
