Tests Readings HELP

Using Salifert, I just ran ALK and Mag tests for the first time since having to relocate.
Alk is reading. 6.83 DKH
Mag is 1470
Sal. 1.031
Amm. 0
Cal test was lost in the move. Will order another one now.
I did a 20% water change yesterday on the aquarium that is a FWLR.

Where on the syringes rubber plunger is the point of reference?
Help please.

I would lower the salinity down to a 1.026 then retest alkalinity.

I just started adding some fresh rodi to begin reducing it.
I may have my tester calibrated at .010. Would that matter or make a difference?

First make sure your refractometer is calibrated properly, then test and adjust accordingly. To answer your question yes, it will make a big difference. Calibrate it to 35ppt/1.025
