slightly unexpected turn of events...as an unintentional restack went into play this evening...however... i did have one thing that i was quite tickled silly with tonight...and that was seeing Gary's tank...his gloriously clean, artistically scaped tank brimming with happy, healthy life. And seeing, even in a veteran reefer, the excitement and fascination of a child when it came to his piece of the ocean, was truly an inspiration to me. My daughter came out with me, and we both were just so emotional over how beautiful a display it is. I now have this "frag" (like a side of beef is to a "frag" of a cow....seriously...needed a bucket.), which, as he said I would...looks completely different in my tank...it's stunning! Gary...thank you, thank you, so much for the coral and for letting us drool on the glass.....

"I accidentally snapped off an 8"+ long frag of purple Montipora tonight.
Right now it's an eyesore sitting on my sandbed and I want it gone ASAP.
First $20 takes it. Bring a bucket or large plastic container because it won't fit in anything I have. "

Wife and I had the opportunity to see Gary's tank and trade a pink birdsnest for some of the purple cap. Not too hard to discern the difference between my noob tank (but learning) to one of much more experience (Gary's). Purple cap is growing so rapidly we had to relocate it over the weekend to an area with more space. Now...if I could just get my acros to grow a little faster and color up...some day. - Mark

Yah, Gary, hop to it; I'd like to see it as well. At the time I traded with you I had another one that was rather identical to the one you got. The one I kept has been broken off by a large Hippo and then later fell it to my Duncans. However, it has grown real nicely - probably baseball size-ish, lots of point on it, but not exactly the pinkest I've ever seen. However, it does seem to be getting pinker as it grows. Is this normal? - Mark

I don't know what "normal" would be for that particular coral. The frag I got from you isn't what most people would call pink. It's located in a spot that's very difficult to photograph.

Pizza might be good but I bet Wegmans brand frozen Cinnamon Belgian Waffles were better!
