Thank You Kirsten!

Red Dragons!
As some of you may already know this past PROP auction was Kirsten's last auction as the head of PROP. She has put in at least (maybe more) 8 years working with PROP to bring amazing corals into the valley to offer to everyone at the auctions at great prices. She has donated her time, tank space, sweat, etc. for all those years, not to mention the excitement of running around handling the 6 meetings a year which can be a headache and limits your ability to socialize with everyone in the group. She has been an amazing resource in the PROP/FRAG group for so long and has help so many people in that time. I personally blame her for getting me into reef tanks. When I met her I had a large FOWLR, once I saw her reef it was all over, I had to have a reef. I know she, and her tank have inspired many people on this forum. Just want to take a minute to say thanks for the years of help and inspiration. KK, Keep that 58G up! A house is not a home without some salt creep on the floor and the gurgle of a sump!

I agree, she's great and appreciated. She's given me a lot of advice over the years.

Thank you Kirsten! You taught me allot back in the Pets Inc days and I bought many happy corals from you in the past. I hope you are staying in the hobby and can now participate in the auction fun.

Congratulations on your PROP "Retirement" Kirsten!
You have made an amazing impact on reefkeeping in the valley, you carried FRAG and PROP through some tough times, and you had a jawdropping tank all along.

A hearty thank you to you!

Add me to the list of thanks to Kirsten. She was one of the first people I met at the auction and got me involved with a great group of people. Your efforts will be missed.

I remember going to Pets Inc and getting excited that she was there. She was always the easiest to deal with and could tell you just about anything you wanted to know about each and every piece.

Thank you! I've only been to a handful of auctions but at everyone you have been very nice. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed!

Kirsten you are truly an inspiration! Thank you for all your efforts. You have left your mark on the reef Community. Good luck with your future indeavers. See ya on the buyers side.

Thank you Kirsten for the years of getting PROP going strong and steady. Hopefully you can still stop by the meeting.

I bought my first SW fish (2 Clowns) from her at Pets Inc, her advice helped get me started in the right direction. She insured me that I could do it (SW) and all would be okay...haha
Thank you for all you have done!

Kirsten, thanks for all the hard work with the organization. I remember you getting me some fresh saltwater from your tank during one of the auctions to save some corals I gave a lethal dipping to. Please continue to share your extensive knowledge and hope you'll still participate in the monthly events. Jeff

Kirsten, seems so strange to see you break down your tanks and leave PROP, you carried the group for so many years and gave your time and corals so freely to anyone that asked. I have a feeling though you will start a new reef tank down the road after a well deserved break from the hobby. You have too much experience and knowledge to not have a tank, it's in your blood. Everyone in this hobby goes through ups and downs, some more severe than others, but no one who has been doing this for as long as you has been unscathed. For me, the problems this hobby presents are what keeps me involved, sort of like how golfers keep playing to hit that shot they make just every so often. The challenge keeps me in the game. Admittedly, I have moments where I'm close to shutting it down and walking away, but when I look back I'm glad I didn't. I hope you stay connected to the group and RC. You have a lot of friends here. I'm one of them.

Best,

Elliott

Wait. What?!? No way! I came late to the meeting, and I didn't hear any of this! Are you taking a break? Moving? Kirsten, there were so many times that I went into Pets Inc. and you spent a good amount of time with me, explaining so much and throwing in some good stories! Then when I started coming to auctions, I got to know you, and your generosity! Your corals and knowledge will be missed... but more than anything, (if you are going) YOU will be missed. Thank you.

Wow. Kirsten, I opened up this thread to find you are leaving? Hard to believe. I wish you the best in all that the future brings for you. Hope to see you on the participant's side of the auction in the future.

Thank you all very much.

I believe my 150g has been up for 12 years. It is old and tired with bulk heads being held together by salt creep, return lines with super glue and host of other problems. I have moisture damage to the flooring and walls and so it is time to break it down.

I got involved in FRAG so many years ago. Will trade corals for rubble!! LOL Then came PROP. We have a great community with great resources and I do hope to set the 58g back up in the future.

Kirsten,
I too THANK YOU for all your help with me over the years. I spent at least 2 years worth of lunch hours at Pet's Inc and when you were there I got the best help, service, knowledge, & conversation with you. You answered all my newbie annoying ?'s with out even showing one ounce of annoyance! You stopped me from making bad purchases. You never put making a sale 1st... you always helped me make a decision that was best for my tank and the animal 1st! I hope all is well with you and that we still get to see you at the meetings. You were always busy upfront & I really only got a chance to say HI... Maybe next time we will be able to hang out...chat...and bid on something. I wish you the best & hope to see you set up soon.
Rachel~

Kirsten,
This comes as a surprise. You have done an amazing job with PROP. You will be missed. Make sure to come and visit us at the monthly events. Enjoy your break, but when its in your blood, its just a matter of time. What are you going to do with all the extra time :-)
