not to get to far off thread here but if he (jbillens) buys a quart of chaeto from the boards here, he is more than likely going to get a good amount of pods with it
jbillens, Welcome and thanks! I started out with a 20 gallon and ended up with this! It is a great hobby!
I think I got my pods at Ocenapods.com same as Marc. It;s been over a year ago that I got mine. I added them to the 20 and 55. Haven't needed to add to the 125. I have TONS of pods in my tank and fuge. It was a good investement.
Randall_James, is also correct. By the way I have been to Versailles a few times!
Its cool to see some poeple who know of my small town...Thanks for the info from all of you. I found a place in southern michigan about 30 min from me and she sold me about 40 of her older adult pods for 15 dollars...She also gave me a gagfull of macro algae which i would guess was teaming with them as well. The ones she sold me are about 5 mm long...I was totally suprised but she said it was bc she cultures them in a seperate tank and they have the potential to reach their adult lifes and not be eaten by anything. I plan to do the same in a 10 gallon i have. Thanks again for all your help
Very nice tank! I keep looking at my 135g discus tank and thinking they would look better in a 50! Then I could have tons of reef room too! Very very nice tank!
man that looks good, but i got one question for you, im setting up my 125 and i need lights, what one do you havwe and were did you get them, pm me the info plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...lol
Well, we have our first major problem... The sump cracked for whatever reason. My husband epoxy it for now. He will be building another out of acrylic. Soon!
Either the plumbing got bumped or it is a stress crack from ALL hard plumbing?? Sometimes if it is not perfectly aligned it will crack or vibrations will cause it.....And it cracked through the drilled hole because once you drill, that is the weakest link....Goodbye!
Reeforbust, I just called my husband. He said he already figured that :hmm2: Looks like I'm the last one to know. lol He thinks because the table holding the sump is wood, and we have had a few water incidences (no comment) This has caused the tank to shift a bit. So we will be changing that set up as well.
Water incidences??? Hmmmmm:hmm2:
I won't ask..............
You might just be able to add a new piece of Acrylic, maybe a little thicker to try and keep that from happening again?? Of coarse It would be easier to pick up, move out and drop new sump in place!! Thats my way of fixin things....No manual labor!!
