Some full tank shots. Keep in mind I need to clean the glass, I have been in and out of the tank today and haven't cleaned off the water drips: Also the big rock in the middle will not be staying there. I brought it up from the fuge to put the new SPS on until I decide where to put it permanently.

sump looks good but the baffles look a little to close or is it the way the picture was taking?
I'mnot sure if it's the picture or not. He put them in the same distance as the other sump. That seemed to work well.

Aight and where can i find a pic of the UV sterilizer. I currently have some hair algae problem(should probably get a RO/DI unit, but where) would the UV help that? And where can i get a picture of a UV?

One last question: I am not sure if i have any pods in my 20gallon. I dont have a sump or fuge but how would i introduce pods into my tank and ensure that they would stay in their?

I got my RO/DI unit from Filter Direct:

We did add an extra DI Resin chamber.

The RO/DI will help with your water, but if you currently have a lot of HA, you need to clean the rocks off. I'm sure there are a lot of threads dedicated t this.

What do i just dose my tank with that bottle of water with copeods in it?
Or do i put the whole bottle in it at once?

If you have a refugium, turn off the pumps and pour the bottle into that zone. Rinse the bottle out with tank water to wash out any that are still in the bottle. 10 minutes later, resume the pumps.

This information should be printed on the bottle.

The outside tubes were a nice addition. I was debating doing that to my RO container so I wouldn't have to take the lid off.

I agree, I like the outside tubing idea... Keep up the nice work :)

Thanks Marc and Shawn! :)

Marc, do the pods have to go in the fuge or can some be put into the main tank? I always wonder how many actually go from the fuge to the main tank. :) Probably just being paranoid, but my mandarin is very fat and doesn't eat any food placed in the tank that I've ever seen anyway.

The time that I did it and when people ask me I put half in the refugium and half in the display. Make sure you don't just dump them in the display during the day though as the fish will just think it is a snack. Take the bottle at night, turn off the pumps, put the bottle underwater and let them go near the rocks.

Thank you! I run it 24/7. We only use it on part of the water. I still have tons of pods in the fuge and main tank. My mandarin is very fat! I'm a believer in the UV! :)

How is using UV on only part of the water possible?

Isn't the water in your system one continous body?

Well, we have our first major problem... The sump cracked for whatever reason. My husband epoxy it for now. He will be building another out of acrylic. Soon! :)

The sump cracked b/c of the weight of the fuge on it...

I saw those pics of your original setup and cringed... I was going to suggest bracing it, but read further and saw this... :(

What I mean is, ee only run the UV on one return pipe./ We have two returns.

As for the sump cracking, I think there are a few different reasons. The new one is ready to be installed. I have been out of town the past 2 weekends. Hopefully it will be replaced this week.

Well, it's up and running now! We had to make some changes. First we moved the RO water holding tank UP!
Holding Tank (the top blue tank. Lower one is a pressure tank).

We also made the double pipe one large single pipe:

Had to put some extra bracing for the new pipes:

We then removed the old sump:
