Micki, do you have any tangs? Some of them are notorious for munching on zoos. Coral banded shrimp are also a problem, particularly as they get larger. It is entirely possible that the shrimp took out the mandarin, but fish hide for extended periods sometimes so it may still be OK.

Micki,
I am glad that your mom is home. I prayed today for her and you. How much snow do you all have in Ohio?

I have a question for anyone about RC. I subscribe to this thread and about ten others. I don't know why but it will be several months before this thread or other threads will list on the "My RC" page. As a result I miss a lot of good information on my favorite threads. I have subscribed to Marc's thread several times but his rarely shows up the "My RC" page.

Here you go. Go ahead and resubscribe (bottom of the page). I believe that if the thread splits, your subscription doesn't carry over to the next section. Mine will split again in a few days probably, btw.

This thread was dormant for several months and none of us got any news while Micki was caring for her mom. Glad she's doing better!

Thanks for all the prayers guys she is really doing much better than I anticipated! She will have gallbladder surgery next month then hopefully she will be get back to herself. It's been a long time coming.

As for my thread being dormant Mr. Marc... :) Our Grandson was born in May premature. My Daughter in law had problems for most of the pregnancy. Then the baby had emergency surgery for piloric stenosis in June. We then had extensive water damage to our house in early July, then a few weeks later my husband fell off the roof an broke his wrist prety badly. We just got our house finished and caught our breath for a few minutes and my Mom went in the hospital, so, it's been a long several months, but the good news is that every one is doing great! We have a lot to be thankful for this year!!! I do hope 2007 is a little more calm though. :)

Airman, I LOVE the snow and we had had one very "slight" (if you can even call it that) covering and that's it! In fact it's 50 degrees right now! :( I was hoping we would get some of the blizzard snow from out west but it doesn't look like we will ge anything in the form of snow. My Grandaughter and I are busting to make a snow man!!! On the subscribe note: I know if I have gotten an e-mail telling me there has been a post and I delete it without bringing that post up I don't get any more. that happened to me a few times this summer.

jnarowe, I do have some tangs. Do you know which ones are problems? the CBB is very large. I'm wondering about him and the mandarin. I would see her out and about all the time and nothing for the past several days now. :(

Thanks again everyone!

My Daughter in law had problems for most of the pregnancy.

That is just the result of bad sex. Nothing more. ;)

Hmmmm, I wonder what my son would say about that??? :eek1:

Micki,

My mom has been ill for over two years now and it's incredibly hard on everyone. Our prayers are with you and your mom and your family. I hope she is feeling better soon and you guys have a great holiday season this year together.

brandon

Thanks Brandon, this will be a different holiday for us that's for sure. I hope we are all more appreciative of Mom and each other than we have ever been. At least I know I will be. :)

We just got 2-3 inches last of snow. It has been a warm fall/winter this year in the west. Denver got a lot of snow.

I never heard tangs eating zoas.

I never heard tangs eating zoas.

Marc (melev) had to remove a hippo recently because of all the damage it was doing. I have a sailfin that nibbles on polyps as well. It doesn't make much sense in that tangs are supposed to be vegetarians in the wild, but in captivity they will eat anything they can get their mouth on.

I've been bumping up the feedings. I hope that helps. I'm not sure I can get rid of her. She was one of my very first fish almost 3 years ago...

well, that's what I do, but if you monitor Marc, he feeds pretty heavy too. And fish get bored with no predation. That's one of the "unfixable" issues of home-sized captive reefs. :(

Well, I just caught both my hippo tangs eating some zoas! :mad2:

We may add another tank to the system to move them to. I hate to get rid of them. The one I've had for almost 3 years!
