the 210gallon upgrade thread

Hi Melev my nephew told me today you sent out the acrylic sump today. Thans your I'm looking foward to instaliing it, and getting the cracked 40g out. I can't believe the silicone held it all this time. Thanks again Mark.

Thanks. I finally got my sump and plumbing started. You can see the details on my thread.

That wasa good discussion, I do supplement with garlic already when I feed. My big mistake was waiting for it to clear up, because all the other fish cleared up, so I assumed the blue tang would, but it didn't. I did do a hyopsalinity and the ickcame off, but I was too late. Next time I'll take swifter action. Thanks for that discussion, I learned alot from that experience. My nephew (purebullet417) keeps telling me to quarantine the fish I think I may have to.

Live and learn I say. That's probably why our pockets are always empty in this hobby - there are always lessons to learn.

Yep - quarantine is definitely worth it, especially when there are thousands $ in the show tank. I plan to use my old 40 gallon tank as a quarantine tank once get my 210 flowing. It's moving @ a snail pace right now.

so wile at his house after we put the corals in the weirdest thing happened. we fed the fish and all the fish ate like they normally do. the lights fadded out and the moons came on. as we cleaned out the the skimmer we noticed the sailfin tang spazz out. im talking just start blowing over and spazzing. it looked as if it got hit buy a truck. and the fish was just eating and swimming around not 10 mins before this. the fish died within 30 seconds. it was both of our favorite fish and i have no clue what happened. iv never seen or heard of anything like it. when i took it out and examined it there seemed to be nothing wrong with it. there were no marks or ick on it. if anyone has heard or seen anything like this please tell me.
 
that really is exactly what happened. it couldn't have been electrocution because my hand was in the tank all day. it couldn't have been anything on my hands because nothing else is doing fine. just a weird thing i guess
 
Installed the new acrylic sump custom made bt MELEV. Took out the old glass 40gb that was cracked. Also added a Tunze auto top off controller(works great).Wish I could have done as soon as I got Melev, but I've been working some 12 hour days. Great job on the sump here are some pictures.

not to high jack this thread but had a question for melev i was going to feed my rc 500 from one of my 2" drains with a ball valve on it if i understood you this will not work? i need a gate valve insted? thanks
