the 210gallon upgrade thread

tank was totally transfered. All plumbing working great, Melev needed some adjustments as you said but tank is now as quiet as a mouse much better then my old tank with external over flows. Some body wrote that I may have a glare and cant watch the Plasma TV, but seems to be fine I can view the TV and the tank at the sametime, Great. Pictue of tank, not totally clear yet.

the tunze rocks just didnt work out but the tank looks just fine with the 4x tunzes on the back wall. it overall went well and took about 8 hours to transfer everything but went well

It look looks very nice. Looking forward to more pictures in a few days when things settle down.

my uncle went and got a couple of fish he had on order today. 1 blue spoted jawfish 1 tiger tail jawfish and 1 mandarine eating frozen brine.

Im working on getting the protein skimmer tuned, and I still have to set up the phosphate remover. Next month Im going to add the calcium reactor

2 days in - Protein skimmer starting to really take the garbage out. I had to change the pump in the in the auto top off the old one was to weak to pump water up the added height, put in a max-jet 1200 I had lying around.

looks really good, what size is the return pipe from the dart to the tank, and does the dart vibrate at all, my concern was have a DART connected to a Glass sump and cracking in my sleep.

you can see in the pictures the dart is on a piece of styrofoam. this props the pump up even with the bulkhead so that it doesn't put pressure on the tank and absorbs any vibrations the pump has. its hard to tell if its running as quite as it is now

do you have the heat on alot? i noticed that your base board heaters are right behind the tank... it may heat your tankin the winter. just something to watch for.

I had the previous 125g tank on another wall with the heat be hind it. I never had a problem with temp my den is well insulated and the heat dosent have to stay on long to maintain a warm temp. I even have a fire place in the same room with no probelms. I keep the den in the low 70s and the tank maintains temp.

tomorrow we are going to the store to see if we can get another tang(proboly blue or sailfin) this way they get established earily after the move. they also got in some rare wrases

added the phosphate reactor last night and put phosban media in it. I thought things went well until my wife informed me at 1am that it sounded like a water fall in the den. I ran down to see that I pulled the auto top off hose out when I hooked up the phos ract. big oops 20g ro/di water on the floor> Any way I cleaned it up , all is well reactor working well. Thank g-d no salt water just ro-di water.
