the 210gallon upgrade thread

lol melev it is 72" and yes it is a cool toy. as for someones other questions the sump baffles are 12" high and the dart is throttled back about half way. at macna we plan on looking at different calcium reactors and purchasing one. we have been seriously looking at geo reactors.

Thanks purebullet417. Do you know if the mega flow was able to handle the full force of 3600gph? I assume not considering it's only half way released. I heard it was capable of 2400gph; that's almost 2/3 of Dart's force.

If that is 72", all I can say is...

glad it was your wallet and not mine. You definitely have one of the cooler toys on the market. :)

I agree with melev....OUCH! Maybe the cost of living on Long Island is higher than Texas for sure ♠:D

that it is mtran lol. as for the dart we had it full throttle for a min or two and it handled it but we did some modifications on the overflow teeth to make them bigger. also we have all 4 bulkheads as drains.

purebullet417 - do have a pic to show on the mega flow mod? I am curious also. I have a similar setup and would appreciate any input in the design. thanks

I would like to start off by saying what an awesome job you guys have done on your tank upgrade! Love the fish choices as well! I have two questions, on the tunze do you have all of them on full blast all the time , or do you use the controller for random lower flow here and there? Also may sound dumb but can you explain solaris light setup and how that works and what that is? I guessing its new have been hearing about it lately... thanks!

thanks alot yoboyjdizz. the tunzes we have on pulse mode and pulse between 30 and 80%. as for the solaris ill have pics up in 1 second

The Solaris is such a pretty sleek lighting system. If I paid that much coin for it, it wouldn't be hidden in my canopy. :D

You guys did a nice job. At least thieves won't know to grab it.

The Solaris system is a light fixture that only uses LEDs, and lots of them. The company states that the bulbs will be good for 5 years, so you don't have to worry about replacing them annually. And you can program it to do all kinds of things, like sunrise, sunset, cloudy cover, and vary the intensity of blue from 1% to 100% to get the color you like best. It was a very popular topic at last year's MACNA in Houston.

How much of the rock is live rock, and how much is base rock? Your mandarin looks pretty thin unfortunately. It needs more pods, a lot of them.

I have over 200 pounds of live rock-all is live rock no base rock. Also have alot of live rock in the sump.I also check on the Mandarin regulary and he seems okay,he also eats mysis shrimp time to time.Whe I bought him I bought one that the supplier showed me he ate mysis.

When you can see the bone structure along the side of the fish, it is malnourished. It should be rounded and fat, like this one.

That is a beautiful fish, I really see the difference, Im going to try to enclose him in a large clear cup and try feeding him by himself
