The 225.

Coming along nicely

Looks great!!
I really like the color and finish of your walls too

Thanks guys, im pretty excited about it. Its taking alot longer than expected. Gonna try to hire someone to help me finish it next weekend.

If something gets in the tank that makes the skimmer act up then that bucket could fill in minutes or hours when your not there not weeks.

Thats true. I did make it skim a bit drier but I will prolly get an auto shut off on it once I get my Apex.

Since the skimmer is internal, why do you need a bucket or auto shutoff? Left as it is, it will just overflow back into the sump and you'll never have flooding.

Your concern shouldn't be forgetting to empty the skimmer cup, it is those times when something makes the skimmer go crazy and it fills up in a matter of seconds. In that case, I'd just let it flow back into the sump.

If you do insist on an external bucket, I use an Avast marine skim mate locker with the pressure switch. It is hooked to my apex and sends a text message when the locker fills up - usually due to the skimmer going crazy.

Quick question regarding your dc12000. You running it internal or external? Can it be ran external? Some interweb people say yes, some say no. What is your experience?

So heres the basement as it stands.

I cant go much further with the tank still standing. The plan is to put the livestock and coral into the holding tanks while I break the old tank down, move the stand, lay the tile, put baffles in the old tank so I can use it as a sump, set the new tank up,and plumb it to the sump which will be about 15ft. from the tank.

THEN,I'll be setting up the controller and reactor. I'm going to update the Apex to fusion and try to mess with it so I can familiarize myself a bit with it before I try to get everything going

Here's the holding tanks and the new tank sitting in the laundry room waiting.

And finally here's the new gear Ive been gathering while Im doing the floor etc.

Im tasting the finish line now so Im really gonna hit it hard and try to get the tank down and floor finished this weekend. Then next week/weekend I'll get the new tank set up and plumbed. HOPEFULLY being the key word there.

If there was only a few more hours in a day..

Great looking floor and it should last forever!

It looks like you have some interesting artwork on the walls.

When's pizza night, so I can school you in darts? (JK)

You "may" have more tanks than Pife, if that is possible.

Any concern on the stands failing if the screws fail?

I think we have that exact same tile in our basement. We couldn't figure out whether to do tile or hardwood. So we did a tile that looked like hardwood. Very cool.

Only bad part is the size of them requires you to level each separate piece to ensure they do not crack from them being walked on and settling.

Please tell me you leveled each tile?

Thanks guys Im really happy with the way its coming along.

As far as the screws go I'm using 3" screws 8 in each leg ( 4 in bottom and 4 in top) so theres about 50 screws in each stand. I'm hoping that will be enough! lolz

Theres definitely a pizza night somewhere in the future.

Thats was our dilemma but we're glad we went with the tile.
