The 300 has begun

Wow...

Just was looking through your whole thread tonight trying to get those creative juices flowing. Just noticed you got some really nice new stuff and some nice fish too!

I had my cabinet maker buddy over tonight discussing options for my stand and canopy. I'm very excited... he keeps telling me don't worry, it's gonna look totally unique! Although I have to say, I got a lot of inspiration from your build!

Pretty soon I'll have to start a new build thread! In the mean while I love taking in your 300 and all the pointers I can get!

Thanks for the praise. As for the starphire, I never had scratch issues. The thing I didn't like about it is that it doesn't give you the depth look to the tank because in mine and one of my friends in California had one it tends to make everything look closer to the front like a magnifier. If I were you and can afford the 30" depth I would highly recommend it. It gives you so much more room. Also you can do so much more with your rock work. You can probably ask people here about if they could have another 6" in depth they would love it.

Can't wait to see yours started. Need any help just let me know. I work in Phoenix by the airport so it wouldn't be a problem for me to drop by.

Well here's what it looks like as a full moon. I like my glowing fist in the picture blocking the flask.

Thanks for the support Red... I'll certainly keep you in mind! I'm about 10-15 minutes from the airport as it so happens.

Mostly logistical stuff to be worked out at this point, where to put the old tank since the new one is taking it's place. Transferring the livestock to a temporary holding area while I sett up the old tank in a temp spot... fun stuff like that, you know?

Then the REAL fun starts :D

Nice moon baby~!

Well I have a 100 gal Rubbermaid container that Kburns is borrowing right now and you are welcome to use it after he's done with it. He should be done this weekend. At least that's his plan.

Red, are you covering your "flash" or your "flask"? :p I seem to remember a cervezca sitting on the top of the tank when it was delivered.

Is that one of those Home Depot style ones, the large black tubs that people make sumps out of, that sort of container?

How big and what are the dimensions, off hand would you say?

Thanks

kbarnett63: That's my hand covering the flash.

Dave: It's actually a water trough for agricultural stuff. I think it like 42"Lx30"Wx18"T not positive though.

lockekeyy: They actually all came off the plugs and disappeared.

Sunset

I guess this isn't a Sunset, it's actually a Cirrhilabrus Pylei.

Well I got my media today and my kalkwasser. I'll be building my kalk reactor tomorrow. I used the Gen-X media for my calcium reactor. It's the first time I have used this stuff so we'll see how it does. Here's a pic of the reactor full of media. Now all I need is a CO2 tank and to finish the plumbing on it.

You did a killer job on that CA reactor, seriously. Wish I knew how to work with acrylic like that. Someday soon though, someday real soon. Keep us updated :)

Thanks but I'm having trouble finding rubber gasket material.

Well here a picture of some more work done on the canopy.

copper state nut and bolt has a gasket division, you can get sheets of any type of gasket, or they can cut any size or type you want.
