The 300 has begun

Nice to finally see some life in that thar tank!

I love your stand, are you gonna do the canopy to match, I would imagine so, eh? Also, are you gonna add any supplemental lighting or just go with the 3 halides?

BTW, sorry about your temp swing and the loss :( Other than that you're lookin good!

Your daughter's cute btw! I've got a 7 year old and she's grown up with my tank. She loves it~!

you lost the pink milli?

what other two look unhappy?

I lost that light blue aquacultured one that I brought back from LA. The other ones are the Idaho Grape and and large stag that was under your frag rack.

I took the pink milli and cut all the living piece off and mounted it to one rock. It's doing fine.

Yep, going to do the canopy to match the stand. I'm also going to run 2 46" VHOs and I have a lunar cycle moon light system. Just trying to figure out how I'm going to do the canopy. Also thinking of adding one more 250 with the Lumenarc 3.

Sounds nice Red!

I hope you'll include pic's of the canopy and the how to steps....

By the way, I'm wondering how does everyone put those nifty aluminum lighting support structures together anyway? I wish I knew how to do that when I put my tank together.

Anybody got a how to link on that one? I'd love to see it for future reference....

Thanks

Well I didn't now they had that at home depot? Cool!

I just went to Home Depot and bought the aluminum. Cut it and bolted it together.

Maybe $25-30. I used the 1" square tubing and used brackets to put it together. I'll post a pic when I get home of the other one I made for my old 380 with 4 lumenarcs on it.

Well here's a picture of what my skimmer has pulled out so far. Anyone want a fear factor drink? :D

The cup is 8" with a 4" neck. It's been on for about 2 weeks but there was nothing in the tank prior to me just adding the corals and 3 fish.

Well as I noted above I have 3 fish in the tank. I have a 2" Purple Tang, 1.5" Vlamingi Tang, and a 2.5" Naso Tang.

Wow you lost them from only dropping to 75.6? My tank is around that nightly, peaks at 79-80 in the day & nothing even looks slightly stressed, in fact growing like weeds. Sorry for your loss. Do you normally keep it much higher as in 85 or so?

Well they could of not liked being in a 5 gal bucket with the giant slimer, and 10+ other corals dosed with Revive for 20 minutes. Lots of chemical warfare in a 5 gal bucket.

On temp, look at the normal reefs if the water goes up 2 degrees the corals RTN. So maybe one degree can make a difference. I don't really know what it dropped to since when I got up the lights are already on. Which that helps heat the tank.

I think the reason is the time in the bucket.
