The "armitagei" of the Pacific... one beautiful hybrid I've waited for forever!

John,

I say if you can't get the links changed to work with your photobucket account, you'll just have to begin a build of a new system! Might not be popular with the wife, but I'm sure all of us on RC would appreciate it!

I agree! Can a nod please help get the picture links in the link john posted to work. I am dying too see what he's gt there and I keep clicking the link only to find that tepictues still rnt coming up!

I posted pics of this fish on another thread, but thought the readers might be interested in this beautiful queen angel. And I threw in a pic of my armitage to boot.

Wonderful fish... that queen appears to be recently collected and fresh from the ocean... is it and where was it collected? I recently received a near all yellow blue/queen "townsend" cross that is a sight to see... :)

I am overwhelmed, as usual. Beautiful angels, as usual..
Who do you bribe, anyway???!!! LOL

Matthew

Thanks Matthew... the only bribes I give are in the mostly useless information and contacts I've developed through the years... it does come in handy sometimes... :)

Clearly you are single...

that's very interesting... you think the white one is a sub male? or female?

what would cause something like this to happen?

The fish was definitely a male in the photo, but next to a HUGE male so it is tough to see... the fish has regained most of its pigment as I expected. I've had so many light colored morphs like this through all fish families and they always revert back in captivity. Ichthyologists I've spoken to have no idea what's going on, but most are fascinated when I show them progression photos through the years of the fish I've had. I believe this to be genetic in the fish combined with diet. In captivity with the varied diet these fish revert back...

So you DID end up with that yellow townsend? Hope we get to see pics soon :)

Does that surprise you? :D From afar it looks like a Brazilian queen lacking almost all blue... but now that I got it in my hands it's clearly a hybrid from Florida, and the most interesting one I've seen... I'll get pics this weekend... :)

Oh and Chelsey this little guy you asked about is now fully back to normal coloration... I've had him a full year and a half and I just threw him in my large sps reef...

Nope doesn't suprise me in the least bit :) That's the one that I sent you the link to, right?

Hey guys, here's an interesting xanthic looking Holacanthus ciliaris/ H. bermudensis hybrid (commonly known as a Townsend angel)... a relatively common cross in an amazingly rare and interesting color! More yellow than a Brazilian queen but clearly a hybrid from Florida looking at the crown and eye... and an amazing white lower lip!
