thanks mate! Thanks for the info regarding fixture's hight flo:thumbsup:
I bet you've inspired a lot of people go the "drop off" way!
Is that a ps controller on the table???
thanks buddy!! :bounce3:Love the room shot Flo and also the end shot Flo! Looking so sweet and colorful, clean and organized Cheers Mate!
thanks Josh! actually i did 99% myself only the glass was build by a pro!Jeez Flo that setup is so nice, great job to whoever built that for you. Love the picture of the drop off.
thanks Matt!Flo, You must have had to do some very precise shimming.
What material did you use between the glass and that stand?
I would love to try a tank like this but honestly, it scares the crap out of me..
:thumbsup:Yep!!!
thanks!Flo, was there any change in AF products you use since last information you put on here?
You quit the amino's last time.
What is your dosing now?
Still an awesome tank.
Very nice tank!!
Display is looking really amazing Flo, thanks for the pics of the tank without water - very cool and unique SPS reef buddy
Do you have to run a pump on the deep end wall normally or is it clear of pumps like in the pic mate.
It looks like a lava flow of beautiful acros spilling into an ocean of colorful flubber garbage - i mean that in a nice way Flo
I think you should seriously consider trying a gyre Flo if you don't use one now. It will do this in whatever length pulsing surges you find is best for your design.
The red line is where the front of the flow is in my display when the pump stops blowing, about a foot back from the 5 foot length of my display. About 5-6 sec pulse on off at 70% is the max i can run without blowing the acros at the far end too hard with the down wash surges and shifting sand.
Every now and then the upwash from the deep end will disturb the flow across the top and give you random changes in flow, you just play around with power and on off times to tune it to your tank and scape.
If you already have a gyre forget what i just said
okay! hope i can manage something!I have had it running 50mm under the water and the flow across your high spot just before the drop off will actually lead to those acros tabling more to the left over time rather than up. If you could borrow one for a few days to try out i would do it. It might not work for you the way it works for me given the radical tank design differences so perhaps only try it with a borrowed unit as they aren't cheap but they aren't super expensive like an mp40 or equivalent tunze pump and controller and value for money a gyre 150 at $400- AU absolutely takes the cake in the volume of display it can handle all by itself.
I could run the entire display on just the single gyre, it wouldn't be ideal imo but nothing would suffer at all. You couldn't place a single tunze / MP pump on my overflow and have a hope of keeping everything alive due to dead spots in flow.
I hope you get a chance to use a test unit Flo
the far end is not my concern the corals right after the gyre areFlo, you don't have to worry about how far the gyre reaches. It will move serious water right across your tank with ease. The larger gyre would probably have no trouble moving the sand off the bottom or your deep end, if it were on full blast.
yes full AF mode :lolspin:Forgot to ask..
You are running almost the full AF line.. Do you use zeolites as well?
just blame it on the GF... the PS4 controller is mineAnd why are there grapes and a candle on the table...... and some egg thing...... you are looking a lot like a hippy tree hugger to me Flo......:twitch:
