The Austrian Drop Off taken over by Acroporas

when the six line goes crazy just get him a lion fish buddy :D

BTW, when you beat the salat you need to post those FTS pics I saw. They need to see what you overcame !

Stunning tank, I'm planning to build the one in the future, is the detritus will settle on the deep part and could you share the tank dimension?

thanks!

tank is 100x70x35cm in the shallow and 55x70x75cm in the deep

since i removed all the sand detritus isn´t that big of a problem anymore

Hi Flo,

loved the photos above, things are looking good. The Foxface should eventually take care of everything, hopefully. I know mine is the primary cleaner in the tank now.

My female clown keeps the sixline in check ... heck almost everything picks on the sixline from time to time, but only after the sixline goes a little nutty. The Kole tang takes turns either chasing him around or letting the sixline clean him. I never new a sixline could act as a cleaner???

My only regret about the sixline is that I can't add anymore wrasses.

Thanks Mark!

Yes the Focface is already very active and feeding on the algae

Haha yes i know sixline can be pretty big stinkers... but so far so good... got some other wrasse in my tank and I couldn't notice any aggression against them
But let's wait and see...

Never heard that they can act as cleaner...!!?

Cheers

haha...

so on 26th of November the tank got torn apart and i got rid of all the stones and rest of the sand. after that the tank and all the equipment got cleaned very precisely...
but i´ve made some videos showing what we did. i will post those in just a few days!

so if you have any questions just let me know.

and i really want your opinion on the new scape!!

Cheers, Flo

ur crazy

Some people have been pretty lucky with 6 line wrasses. They're amazing little pest killers it's just a shame they can get so angsty.

That guy who has the 19 year old 20,000 gallon reef dealt with a lot of pests over the years, he said the single biggest pest killer he used in this twenty thousand gallon aquarium was a single six-line wrasse... That's a hell of an endorsement.

wow

but they are very active and always checking out everything!

good to know

Sorry for not checking in for so long Flo, the redo is a great idea :)

I think you're forgetting how long even a semi established reef takes to settle back into balance my friend. No need to battle anything, rushing to solve problems is what we all do and it always gets us into trouble.

As long as the acros hold the colors they have now then the algae is nothing more than a visual issue and that will be absorbed out of the system over time - your acros look bloody nice to me Flo

thanks mate! :bounce3::bounce2:

yes you are right... but getting some animals to feed on the algae worked pretty nice and is something to look at ;)

the acros are suffering a lot... my no3 and po4 levels went to 0 in the last week and that wasn´t to good for the weakened corals... my acans on the other hand are looking great. have to wait and see and give the tank more time. but i am not in a hurry... what survives survives and what not i can´t help much...

and to top it all off we are thinking about moving in a couple of weeks... :hammer:

Cheers

Hi Flo,

How are things doing?

hey!

tank is doing better... algae is dying but also my acros... seems like i have a nutrition problem... i am way to low and alle my acros which have been weak are now going down... trying my best but losing some...
acans on the other hand are doing amazing... getting new colors and super look

If you need, check out freshwater planted ferts, kno3 specifically (Potassium Nitrate). If "Stump Remover" is available I'd skip it if you can.

that is absolutely beautiful. i just told my girlfriend, i will marry her when she gets me this tank. ha
