The Austrian Drop Off taken over by Acroporas

hey!

tank is doing better... algae is dying but also my acros... seems like i have a nutrition problem... i am way to low and alle my acros which have been weak are now going down... trying my best but losing some...
acans on the other hand are doing amazing... getting new colors and super look

Funny you say that. I'm experiencing the same thing. a small # of acros STNed but Acans look great.

Just love this tank.....the drop down format, the position in the room, the layout....
Hope that things get better soon.
thanks!
don´t know the future for this tank is pretty dark... my gf and i are going to move into a new appartment and it seems like there won´t be the right spot for this tank... can´t realize it the way it stands now and it will maybe make room for a normal shaped tank... but don´t know yet

Sorry to ear that acros are in trouble.
Why do you say that its a nutrition problem?
because i can´t seem to get No3 and Po4 up... the are nearly 0

sorry to hear that...

Sorry I can't help. Never gone thru 0 issues with N and P...
Have a lot of experience on the other side but here doesn't apply... :-)

The other day we were discussing about that and some one suggested that we (guys with high and low N and P issues) could swap water from water changes. [emoji23]

haha that would be a win win... the 0 guys could use your higher water and the other way round ^^

but the main problem is the coming move to a new apartment where the drop off does´t really fit... hmmm

thanks!

Are you dosing carbon? And how much are you feeding? It's been shown that lack of Po4 can lead to bleaching which I suspect happened to my tank and what's happening in yours. That's why the algae are also dying along with SPS. I've increased feeding the fish and more than doubled my coral feeding.

feeding also more than before and using plankton from easyreef...

To bad you have to dismantle the tank again.
That's a very special tank but I'm sure you'll have fun planning and executing a new build!

Any updates on your tank?

unfortunately not much...

all SPS are dead... don't know why but it happened...

but the tank isn't going to stand much longer... i am moving and i will have to sell it because i can´t set it up the way it is right now...
will build a new tank but standard form ;)

Cheers

Sorry to hear that. You don't have any clue about the reason why they have died? Flow, light, some product dosed...
Hope you start the new tank soon since I enjoy a lot your thread.

i guess the nutrients were the problem... too low...

will be back for sure

Cheers
