The Austrian Drop Off taken over by Acroporas

So guys it´s time for my weekly update!
man i love taking pictures during the waterchanges and this time a took alot

Still fighting Aiptasia and bubble Algae
Cyanos are on the upcoming but I guess that´s from the change to the Aquaforest probiodic method. dealed back on the Aminos

Nutrients are going down:
Alk: 6,4
Ca: 400
Mg: 1340
No3: 2,00 (see Matt^^)
Po4: 0,047
ph: 8,2

if my eyes work i´m detecting a little bit of orange in this acro...

A. valida is finally getting better coloration in the tips!!

Mille in a sea of Acans ^^

what is going on at the base of that Acro...

that´s what i call PE

so and finally another week passed and the change went on:

there are 3 weeks between the first and the last picture...
encrusting is going on quite nicely, can´t wait to see how this Acro is going to turn out

and finally here is the few I´ve got from my couch... I´m most of the time watching television in the reflection of my tank :lolspin:

sorry for spaming you guys with all that :D

Flo

Damn Flo!! You have a seriously awesome reef :D needless to say I'm jealous of such a stunning tank haha

Have you got any pumps or anything down the bottom for flow or just use the overall current in the tank to get there?

thanks Dom!!

but i really have to say the pictures don´t show all the weak points like the massive aiptasis problem and the cyanos...

i´ve got 3 MP10 running over all...
on mp10 is down in the dropoff, but i´m searching for a way to get another down there... my main problem with pumps there is how to deal with the cords!!? so the vortech seems to be the only one...

cheers

Shhh, if you don't show them to us they don't exist

Awesome, I thought you might have had a pump down there :) I think vortech's are your only choice really as I don't know how you'd deal with the pump cords at all! lol

I´m thinking about a gyre on the back of the shallow area instead of the vortech... a cord over there wouldn´t be a problem!

but i think it´s a good sign that you can´t see them

Wow, Flo! The corals are looking super healthy and your photos are excellent.
I absolutely love your wide angle room shots. The tank in the room is stunning.
A gyre on the back wall blowing over the shallow section and into the deep section would create fantastic flow..

you´re too kind :bounce3:

Yes most of the corals look great, some are not so on top, don´t know why but lets wait and see...

tank is still in the change i guess and it had some rough times...

yeah gyre might really work and create a nice flow... but maybe i can get one to test it... but i think not :D

Flo

I missed a lot, great pictures and the acros look fantastic. I hope you can get the apatasia under control. Peppermints worked well for me but I understand why you might be cautious with all the flubber in there. :)

What is your light cycle with the hybrid fixture?

I love this shot! Very smart placement with the tank right where you are all the time, that is smart. I barely watch tv, I watch the tank quite a lot, and if the tank is away from your comfortable seating you end up in some other room perched on a chair:p

Looks like you are getting some good results so far, and your tank is really filling out with Acros. Nice job Flo!

I agree, Flo, I want to eat a sandwich there then take a nap :) Beautiful work my friend, every pic you take seems to show improvement over the last. So glad to see you so excited about the tank :) Great job, keep the pics rolling!!!

thanks Mark! haha don´t know what you mean... my flubber would be gone in days :D Andrew would approve :D
i run my hybrid with the Bali mode, time a little bit tweaked so that the lights run longer at night!

once i had my tank in another room and it was the worst! my living room is my LIVING room and we spend most of our time there, so the tank is always a part of our day!
yes the results are coming slowly, best to be seen in the low nutrients. hope the cyanos will stop now after i stopped dosing Aminos...

Thanks my friend! glad you took a look! :D thanks to your help I´m on a good way! ^^

Another thing:
I´m still running my balling light and a thought crossed my mind... there are supplements mixed with the salt... you think this will be a problem... overdosing some things?

Cheers,
Flo

That would be a good idea, add lots of bulk flow :) And you could move another Vortech down in the drop off then :)

Too busy looking at all the groovy corals! :D

Such a beautiful tank flo and in so many ways!
That couch view is awesome:inlove:
Congrats:beer:
thank you Mike! i hope it stays this way. i´m constantly fearing a turn for the worse... don't know why but Acros are the divas of our tanks :D

This is by far one of my favorite tanks out there right now. For sure , im doing one next
thank you very much! :celeb2: if you then have any questions just ask ;)

getting one vortech free to move down into the drop was exactly my idea
but first of all i need a price... then i have to sell a kidney to make enough money for the skimmer and the pump :headway: :lolspin:

How about times and such, I can't find any info on the Bali mode for your light. How long on and off, percentages of LED's, times T5's on and off, etc. I know, I ask a lot. :D
