Official member!! WOOOHOOO! I had my BMNAC6 together and running at 10pm last night, got up for work this morning at 4am... Had a 1/2" of jet black skimmate in the cup !! 6 hours run time!!! Cant wait to see what this thing can do once broke in!!

Just to reiterate... JET BLACK SKIMMATE on six hours run time.... The darkest skimmate I have ever seen... I will post pics tonight... later

Nice hoffy02!

I am currently breaking in a BK 160 mini on my CAD pro system and it is breaking in nicely "BUT" the NAC6A performed much better at this point than the 160 has so far. IMO you can't go wrong with one of the BM skimmers. At this point there should be no skepticism about the performance of these skimmers, they are now proven to pull tons of junk!

Temprarily removed the NAC6A to break in the 160. The 160 will go into my brothers system until I can start my 90 gal wall build in october. I'm just trying it out to see what it can do.

The avatar is a pic my uncle posted a while back and was taken in micronesia (I think?). He's been all over so it's hard to remember.
I think it is online somewhere. I would like to claim it as my own but I don't think I could find an acro forest like that anywhere if I tried. The full size pic is awsome!

Take care

Do you have the second impeller?

Mine came with an extra impeller. Before you put in the new impeller, make sure the white plastic cage around the mesh has no signs of stress cracks. I haven't had to use my second impeller but when I looked at it I noticed two fine white lines at the base of two posts. I think these cages are too flimsy and when they are bulked together before packaging, they are getting slightly bent. It's either that or the quality of plastic they are using in the molds. They need to do away with the cage all together and have a removable reverse thread nut at the end of the impeller to hold the mesh. I'm sure they will remedy that soon with all the impeller issues popping up.

There's a new North American distributor for the entire line of BM. They are AQD (Aquatic Digital, Inc.). Some others may have received a PM from them as well and they state they will have full tech support and from what I understand, hopefully a full line of replacements parts for these bad boys.

Blue Ocean Aquatics and Moon Aquatic in San Jose both have or had the NAC6A in stock but I don't think either have a website. Mine came from Blue Ocean and the prices were the same or cheaper than other dealers.

Correction!

It is aqua digital.com. Should be nice because the local dealers won't have to wait for shipments from China. They will have a support forum on RC soon.

Just received Sedra 5000 impeller. Someone suggested that it will work in Atman pump and its magnet is much stronger than Atmans.

I wonder though when I was ordering it the site had picture of the impeller with black needle wheel, but the one I got is with white one.
Are those any different? I though I saw somewhere something like they are different generations or maybe for different generations of skimmers. Or something like that. I could not find that post again.
Any ideas?

after reading thru all the post i decided to take the plunge and join the club. just put a order in for a nac7 from Nuocean.com. can't wait for it to get here to see what it can do.

Oak keep us posted on the Sedra needle wheel and how it does in the Atman. What model Sedra needle wheel are you using and what size Atman pump is it going in?

Ok...... i desided to join the club ....i just ordered a BM180 for $350 and free shipping.... it will be here 1st week of April.....I cant wait..

I got my NAC6 a week ago and I'm very pleased with the result, I have a light bioload and it's pulling alot of dark skimmate already.

I also ordered through Nuocean, very good supplier

I am just putting togeather a 65g system with a 20g sump and the Bubble Magus has really caught my eye. Do you think a NAC5A would be sufficient? Its raiting says so, but I know that can not always be trusted.
