The Chronicles of my 250g Cube (190g display)

Looking good! I finally got my tank back and am in the middle of the plumbing nightmare. I also agree on the aquascaping, have you tried a little stronger pump? Still looks great though.

Thank you for all the compliments. You know what though the more I stare at it the more I miss the old look, I might just buy 3 or 4 seios 820's or maybe a couple of tunzes and go back to the old look.

I'm glad to hear you got your tank back chetm2, are you happy with it? they do a good job? anyway I feel you on that plumbing nightmare.

I really liked your fist LR set up too, but ya gotta do whacha gotta do.

If you can, get a pair of Tunzes or VorTechs in there, you'll be gald you did.

Okay, I have a few opinions/thoughts on the aquascaping. Just my opinion. :D

I liked the old look better too. But.... I did see some potential problems. And I can account for this from experience. Im dealing with it right now. I would give yourself a lot more room between the rock and the glass than you had, and more than you think you will need. I have several corals growing onto the glass and several more that I have removed from the glass in the past. Its not a big deal at all on the back wall. But when they start growing onto, or even just close to, the viewing glass, it gets to be a PITA. It makes it hard to clean the glass and if you try, you usually break the coral.

Just my thoughts. I would maybe even consider moving some of the less attractive LR pieces to the sump or fuge to make more room.

Hey guys I have some pretty bad/sad news I am moving and I will be selling the cube I will be building a new tank (one that fits in my new place, I've been discussing it with my family for a week now, and there is no where to stick it. this thing is massive, my move will be towards the end of June so I have some time. I will post it in the selling forum, I will only sell the tank and equipment, and I am keeping the livestock :D and will hold it in a buddies tank till the new one is up and running.
wish me luck
Felix
I'll post a link to the thread here later.

LOL, well nothing is for sure, but I would love a 120x24x24, I have plenty of space for a long tank, but not to much width. anyway I think that would be a great tank for tangs.

sorry for not replying sooner felix. my computer was broken until just a day or two ago.

Its a shame you have to sell the tank, but this truly is an amazing project, and I look forward to your next build!

why not save some of your equipement from this tank for your next tank? just curious. It shouldnt be that difficult to transport things like the skimmer and lights etc... the stand, tank and canopy would be the largest problems.

I like the sounds of the long "tang friendly tank " your planning

nice work buddy  and I cant wait to see what you create next ! :)

ill trade ya my 8x3x2 360 gallon for your cube...i took my tank down last month and im waiting to move in june also. a cube is my next project and your tank is just about the exact size im looking for.

LOL hey it's some progress, i still want to see some pictures alien, and Sabodish thanks for the offer, but your tank is 36" wide, which isn't far from what i have now, so that wouldn't help me much
Thanks
Felix

Well, I finally made a decision on my next set up. I am going to renovate my sunroom and turn it into a fish room. Im going to have a 150 gallon (60x36x18) in-wall display with the tank in the sunroom/fishroom and the display side facing into my living room. Im really excited about getting started on it. Ive already gutted the sunroom walls and after a little more cleaning up, Ill be able to start making some real plans. I need to run electrical and plumbing, change out all the windows, sheet rock, and add A/C. Its going to be a job but I think it will be worth it. Ill start a thread when I get some more progress and some more pics to post.

Keep us posted with your progress zoos.
