on an acrylic tank you can do this...on a glass tank dont do it....it may stay for a wile but it will slowly peel up..then you'll be mad!

Here is what I did....
If you ARE going to do the foam-work inside the tank, take your egg-crate and cut to size. Then Silicone the egg-crate into the tank. After that go ahead and apply your foam. That way the foam has the contours of the egg-crate to help it keep it's shape and the silicone to adhere the egg-crate to the tank.

better to silicone it all as one..you will get more surface area for the silicone to hold all that foam down that wayIs it easier to silicone the eggcrate to the back before adding foam and rocks or is it better to add foam and rocks outside the tank and then silicone the eggcrate to the back?
