I just got my lifereef 30 inch with large collection cup installed. It seems a little loud at the moment but will work on adjusting location in sump, tubes, etc this weekend. Any specific recommendations to try out in terms of noise?

Maybe the mag is breaking in? It does look brand new. I don't use a mag currently, but my brother does on his 24" and it's pretty darn quiet. Is it a vibrating noise? Humming?

replaced the mag 9.5 on my svs3-24 with a sicce 5.0

lmore consistent bubbles. I think jeff should just tell his customers to put a mag12 or similar ratings on the 24.

I have a 36 I guess it's a svs 36, been on my 120 for a few weeks, it's amazing and the pretty silent. works great, always wanted one and finally did it. I have used many different skimmers over the years and used My Reef creations for a few years and like them but the noise they made bugged me.

the day I set it up, adjusting it.

Hi All

Mine has been running for about 10 days now. I have noticed that if I bump it, it will spew out micro bubbles for a while until it settles down a bit. Anyone notice this too? Could be that its still breaking in?

Cheers

Looks like you're running the 24 with SP4 pump? My brother's 24" wih Mag 12 sent out micro bubbles for a couple weeks when he started it. So yeah I'd say it's probably just breaking in.

This is 9 hrs after startup.
Congrats grizzly! The newer VS3-48 is my dream skimmer
Actually joined the forum in search of a 24" for my 40B.

I have my original 1994 VS2-48 and the newer ones just make it look sick.
Unfortunately, after shutting my system down last year, I sold my
HVS2-24 and VS3-36. The 36" one I liked better than my older 48
mostly due to the VS3 flange, but also the self cleaning venturi.

I would like to get a used 24", but am prepared to put the only one I have left
on my 40B. Would take ~400 total including a new Reeflo SwordTail pump
and a 978 Mazzei. Not sure where to post in a classified sub forum though

Having mine for 21 yrs now, and still works speaks volumes.
You will never be disappointed with your life long investment :)

BTW my new VS3-36 was pushing a full head in something like 30 mins
after a vinegar bath, but was 50+% foam at the time too.
