The Light has arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!

The PPE's finally opened up today for the first time. They have a bright neon green mouth and deep dark purple surround. as for the skirt it's hard to describe what color that is. It's mottled brown green mixture. I'll try and get a shot of them tomorrow if they are out.

Well the skirt has come out neon green as well on the PPE's The crab is kinda blocking them but there they are.

PPE's have doubled in polyps in 3 weeks now have 4

The bubble tip is still in there somewhere on the back side of the rock work. I caught a glimpse of it the other day. The Hillers are still there and doing great, scattered all over one end of the tank. Green star is ready to be fragged again and I'm thinking of putting some on the pipes in the back just for the heck of it. Looking for a Brisletooth tang to help with the hair algea but haven't been able to find one locally. Thinking about ordering online but kinda iffy on doing that.

Okay I'm naming my tank The Mystery Hole. I haven't seen my black spotted leopard wrasse in two months. I finally spotted my mandarin after a month of not seeing it and I can't find the (#@_@_@$#( Bristletooth tang I put in there yesterday and saw this morning, it ain't a small fish like the mandarin either.

Piper, I think you are trying for the longest thread in RC history. So I thought I would jump into it again for name recognition. But anyway, how is your light doing? Have you had anymore technical difficulties out of it? Also have you been able to keep any acros yet under the light?

I'm working on the longest thread.

Light is doing good no more tech issues since the last one. I haven't tried any more acro's in a while now but have been thinking about it. I have a spot open up top and might give another one a try will probably wait a bit more.

The fish mystery is what's baffling me right now.

Fish mystery solved.

Two months waiting for it. $50 by the time you add in gas running around for it.

Bristletooth tang added to the I'll jump across the room into the cats mouth list.

Now what to use to cover the tank. Used the glass lids but gotta be cleaned and PITA to clean. Tried the light grid thing but I think it blocks to much light. Other ideas before I decided to flush some more money down the toilet?

They could still jump up and land on the brace or some part of the canopy. Need something that will lay on the tank..

I've done the egg crate/light grid and just don't like the amount of light it blocks. Opening up the holes on it just gives the darn fish a place to jump out.

I saw a thread on the DIY forum where people made a frame out of window screen frame stuff then used that black plastic bird netting that has the 1/2" holes instead of window screen and they all seemed to like it pretty well. Personally I have not done it so I can't say for certain that it works. I'll try and find a link to it this evening if I have time.

The link to the clear mesh top is what I was thinking of but I think later in the thread people started using the black because the OP of the thread had bought the clear and would sell his left overs but would not tell people where to get the clear.

I have been looking for the clear mesh myself. I have visited several internet sites with no luck as of yet. I use the eggcrate on my 125. I have 3 seperate pieces to fit in the recessed areas of the braces. Many have stated you do not lose light if you have the large (wide) side up. I see shadows on the corals either way I lay the eggcrate. I would like to have a alternative. I am blocking too much light and have lost 2 acros in the last month.

I am out of upper placement area that is not shadowed. Will need to rework my LR to get more placement spots. I am going to build up the fixture to see if the light will spread better with less shadowing. Hopefully the distance will make a difference. Keep looking for the clear mesh, sooner or later someone will stumble across it!

Still haven't found the clear mesh. Tankmates are all still the same don't have any pics at the moment but not much has changed since the last set. I think I'm going to go ahead and get the plastic chicken wire stuff. Have to look around and see what to use for a frame.

Nothing new to report. Everybody still the same. Still looking for the clear mesh but haven't found it yet. I'll try and get some new pics up soon.
