The 120 does look tight, especially for two. Idols really do need swimming room. Nice corals though. Hope you can make it work.
Not even a 120. It's a 40x30 footprint. The plan was to only keep one, but I'll see how things go.

Just a quick phone pic, 2+ weeks in and doing well.

There's a Fijian Moorish Idol [Expert Only] coming up on Live Aquaria's Divers' Den today at 6. You would have to be on site right at 6 and ready to purchase immediately or it'll be gone. I have gotten 3 from them over the last 5 years. My last one going on 3 months. First one for over a year and 2nd one (a female I think that came from the main LA website not through DD where they make sure they are eating well and have QT'd before shipping. Just wanted to post in case anyone was looking for a good opportunity.
My MI is almost ready for my DT. How do you suggest I introduce him/her to the tank. I worry because I have a purple tang and a PBT in there right now. I believe the MI is larger than both of them. I do have a acclimation box that 12"x8"x8" but I worry that it may be too small for the MI and get more stressed. What are your thoughts?
Your MI looks good and healthy. Where do you get it from?I am looking for one for over 3 months now. Anyone know where I can find one nice MI in LA county?
I love how long his banner is.
Awesome to hear Mike!
In my experience, they are more prone to pick at LPS and zoos. The only SPS my MI picked at were newly introduced ones that were sliming a little bit.
As for the banner, don't worry if one day you see that it is gone or shorter, since, unless it's gone due to a fish picking at it, it should grow back pretty quick.
Congrats again!
Chad
I know mine would eat zoas, back when I kept corals. It took 3 months to discover them, and I had all types of other corals at the time that it did not touch. It has been in a fish only for the longest time, so other than zoas, I don't know what else it would eat.
