the new " big build"

Why not Gary. ?? If its properly built .. like I had said previously, I have access to the entire back and sides of the system via a walkway around the perimeter .. I can reach everything in the tank with no trouble..

a properly built stand is a given

a properly built stand is a given

is this a shallow look down tank? How deep is it... what are the dimensions?

I guessing from the the 24" depth that the remaining dimensions are 4'x8' I arrived at this guess based on the fact that that would make the bottom panel one solid sheet rather than having a seam.
Are you running the sump or whatever equipment under the stand?
And one last thing I built my 120 into the wall when I built my fish room an made my stand 40" an based on the fact that I need a ladder regardless it could have been higher to accomadate viewing pleasure.

stand height is personal preference but IMO/IME taller stands aren't desirable.
I never get a sore back from looking at aquariums on a 28-30" high stand.. the height a lot of commercial stand builders use.

You rarely see the bottom edge of a public aquarium 48" tall.

This makes me wonder if people stand or sit to view their home aquarium...

Hi Steve, actually was just going to post on the progress, epoxy was shipped 2 weeks ago and the first order was damaged by fedex so I had to get a replacement, that just arrived Thursday and I'm applying that today. So after a week cure time I can install the glass and get the bulkheads installed then get some water in this beast...

2 coats on, 2 more to go..

Tanks totally epoxy'ed and curring, glass will be here this week, this up coming weekend will entail installing glass and emergency drain for trial test fill.. also the emergency drain will double as the intake for my closed loop system so its a win win hole in the bottom.. lol
