the new dude on the block

So about 6 months ago I set up a 55gal and ordered some TBS rock. So low and behold, 6 N. wennerae came in on it. I got rid of all but one whom has resided in the refugium of the 55 since I caught him:

I decided to set him up a tank so that I could put something in my fuge that wouldn't get decimated. So I built some tanks (complete build thread here: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1199859).

The tank was almost ready, maybe another few days before I could put him in one of them when I went to my LFS. Now how can you turn this dude down when he gives you those big "I'll kill your puppy dog" eyes?

He was fairly expensive, but I like him. He's about 3 1/2" long. Unfortunately he dug himself a burrow on the wrong side of the tank so no one could see him. So I turned the tank around for the world to see.

So the N. wennerae sits in the fuge still and is going to the LFS I got the peacock at sometime next week to go in a nano on their counter.

BTW, can anyone tell me how to sex it?

That's a nice looking peacock, I don't see the little sticks that are on the male so I will quess it's a female. A picture from underneath would help.

I would strongly guess female by both coloration (more rusty) and the lack of obvious male organs on the third walking legs.

well, I haven't even thought about a name yet. Dunno what it'll be.

Well the LFS ordered in a large 6" - 7" one and ended up with this small one and still had to pay for it as if it was large. So I payed like $87 for it, but like I said, she's cool so I'm glad I did it.

With the TBS that we got the mantis in on there were LOADS of gorilla crabs. I don't think I'll ever catch them all. I put a trap in the tank last night and didn't catch any, but I managed to catch one with tweezers (about the size of a quarter). I decided to put it in with the new mantis and she started hitting it before it even hit the sand. I was awesome!
