For this event the answer to that question is irrelevant. OC is the Home of SCMAS. OC will be the home of Reef-A-Palooza. However I will say that on August 18th, the proof will be at Orange County Fair Grounds!

los angeles doesn't count as socal anymore?

I think Greg was pretty clear on stating that SCMAS is based in OC, so it would make logical sense to have their hosted event(s) in OC. ;)
I doubt he was implying anything about LA County.

oh man, I miss every year and will miss 07. I will be getting married that week.
Just have your honeymoon in Costa Mesa. With the money you save, you will bring home a big bag of corals, and your wife will be stoked!
:lolspin: :lolspin:

im really wondering... how many vendors are to be expected? 12,000 ft is ALOT[/] of room... sounds almost like TOO MUCH room... last years size was good considering how many people came. i personally think that the over-all fee shud be more like $7-8 per person if the venue was a little expensive to reserve... then u kud charge the vendors a little less with high hopes to fill vendor booths... JMO... shud also advertise to alot of the local LFS's and see who else might want to get involved (if that was not being done already)...
in any case...
I WILL BE THERE

do people who participated in the frag grow out challange get in for free?;)

First you whined about paying $30 for SW-CFM & now you're whining about paying $5 to get into RAP?????? ;)

Sell your Deltec & you could bring yourself & 2184702937092837 friends.............

You will get more vendors because it is inside. Inside means more people, inside means easier to set up inside means vendors do not have to stand in the heat all day. $5.00 means a lot of people will show up which makes vendors happy.

Salty ESQ rent a booth and have you wedding at Reefapoolooza.

Harvey( a former vendor in the pet industry)

We already have about half a dozen paid booths as of today and commitments for a bunch more. We will have a total of approximately 60 booths. Talk to me or Greg Carroll to reserve a booth. Priority will be given based on when we receive your payment.
We really want to encourage hobbyist/captive grown frags. Booths for home hobbyists will be available at a reduced price. Details are still being worked out on this.
We are planning to have the SCMAS Frag tank again this year, for those with just a few frags to sell.

I am so there. Just got permission from The Boss to miss another day of babysitting responsiblities at home

Steve or Greg, I would like to reserve a booth please. I was going to do it yesterday but things got too busy and then I had to run home to the kids. Steve came by with a booth layout diagram. Is there any way to get a copy of that by email so I can pick the booth location and pay for it? I am looking for a booth as a hobbyist. Also, will you guys take Paypal as payment for the booth? Should've done it yesterday. Please PM or email reefexotics8@yahoo.com. Many thanks.

So if a hobbyist wants to bring 5 or 10 frags, he can throw em in the SCMAS tank? How will people know who to pay. Seems confusing.
Thanks

I created that map only as a "tentative" floorplan, to show vendors what the basic layout will be. Details are pending my meeting with the OCF Events Cooridinator and Sales Supervisor. I'll post booth prices and the final floorplan in the near future.
Sorry you didn't get the chance to see us before leaving

We should have an auction like they did at the swcfm

I second this idea w/ a 10% auction fee going to SCMAS..............anyone else like the idea????

I agree on the auction. The SW-CFM seemed to have some excellent items for auction to any kind of hobbiest tank.

ZeussZoso: the common tank was a partitioned long tank. It was intended as a 'holding' tank and not necessarily a sales tank. Although the common tank may be sporadically attended, SCMAS will not be ultimately responsible.

Pool together a couple of friends, and reserve a shared lower-tier cost hobbyist booth.

We may have an open/common booth for casual trades, etc but if you want to display, best to reserve.
