So far so good.all are now getting the nice orange more picasso paterns developing. Few half helmets , some with chin strap others with comb over to the side and a few regular one.im telling you it like having both world in one. In one way they get that donis look with the helmet and patern and the other you get that onyx look.black under the white paterns making it a tri color picasso. Best of all I achieved all this with mixing them with no ocellaris of any type.all 100% ocellaris and both of the best lineage with donis re -fixing her ora pair by cleaning her generation with a wild caught black percula and the onyx with extra white almost picasso look but 100 % onyx .pure c-quest.these little guys are going to be ideal for broodstock because I broke the generation by adding 2 clownfish that are not related by far.if they are they are very distance. Most of my babies don't look jacked up, deformed etc... they actually have a nice looking face.all gill plates are nice and tight.body shape looks good coloration looks AAA+

Can't keep them all.so I'll sell a few trades etc... just to put back what I spend on my breeding program. Buy better equipment, supplies etc.. I wish I could keep them all.but after 7 months they start to take each other out.

can you help a noob to breeding i have 11 ocellaris that are on day 45 looking a head
i would like to breed one of them with the wild caught ture perc. the one i have is the male from the mated pair i had female pasted away after 2 years of laying eggs. will the male become female if I put in a young ocellaris ? and if they do pair what do think I will get snowflake?

Yes you can pair a ocellaris with the true perc and the male would turn female .if you ocellaris and only if the have a snowflake paterns you would get hybrids similar to snow onyx.but if you have regular 3 bars ocellaris not you would get fish that some would come out with percs characteristics like one would look like a hight torso fin of a ocellaris but have eyes of a percula and dark agest.if you want something nice out of that male percula .I recommend you sell or trade all your babies and buy a real good lineage picasso juvenile and pair it with the true percula the picasso is a percula so are both with in the same family. Me personally I'm not a big fan of hybrids.picasso I would recommend would be a nice p1 or p2 from bali aquarich or a nebula with alot of white try to get a small one. Oldschool donis reef picasso are nice because they are strong on the helmet n can be passed on to the offsprings like mines did . remember alot of people say they have donis reef picasso. Buy they are just trying to get you suckered into buying their crap , hybrids deformed clownfish. I know a few scammers.out in this hobby. And remember you get what you pay for . You can buy a picasso for 70$ or pay 350$ for another .now ask your self that question why so much. Quality!!! , quality,!!!quality! !!if you have any questions just ask .there is no stupid questions just the ones that weren't asked.

Just ran across this thread. It looks like you had a batch a year ago and then this year. That certainly isn't overbreeding. Ha, ha, ha.

You have some really crazy looking onyx picassos coming along there.

Update picture/ picture was taken when they were 2.5 months old & I like the way the black is starting to come in :)

Most of the time, juvenile Picassos are bright orange. Yours looks deep red, almost like a tomato clown. What do you think is giving you this deep color or is it just the lighting?
