Are you going to employ something to remove the humid air out of your tank room ?
yes I'm using a Fantech RVF 4XL external exhaust fan
rfv4xl.gif

hooked up to an Air 2 Temp and Humidity controller

as well as a 16" green house fan

Update on the Wall

The builder is finishing up on the doors and then I have to stain it and seal it.

Installed the exhaust fan and controller today

I haven't finished the duct work so I just have the single duct coming in but when finished I will have it pull from both ends of the tank

I got my wall holder for my laptop and installed it today also

that's all for today more updates soon

WOW! This project is really great. I love the laptop mount. This whole tank looks SO profesional and technical. BRAVO!

I also see that you actually use the mounting holes on the blue wave ballasts. I could never really figure out how to do that and it doesn't seem to be very intuitive. What did you use to mount them? Does it seem any better than sitting them on a shelf or hanging them?

Right now I have two of mine on cinder block stands and one hanging from hooks. The one that is hanging tends to resonate a bit though and I am interested to know how you solved that.

I put them there to get some more room in the back of the tank area but I'm glad I did no resonance and they are out of the way:D
I went to lowes and got some huge galvanized screws

make sure your in the middle of the stud and drill a small pilot hole so you don't split the stud. The hanger holes are 10.5" apart and you just leave a little bit of the screw sticking up and slide the hanger onto them and your done

hmmm...no rubber grommet and no resonating? Interesting. I will give that a try. My assumption was direct contact with the studs would cause vibration noises. Are the handles snug up against the wall?

they are resting on the wall but not super tight there is a little bit of play but I don't hear any noise so or vibration so I don't know maybe I got lucky?

Relax with a reef tank?? I didn't know you were allowed to relax when you have a reef. That is an amazing setup, you really put a lot of attention to all the details; can't wait to see it stained with all the moldings and everything complete.
