I had to upgrade the electrical service to the house to a 200amp main breaker and I ran a sub-panel for just for the fish tank with 8 dedicated circuits.

I'll take more shots tomorrow of the rest of the electrical work and I start plumbing also!

Oh I did make one huge mistake and if anyone knows of anyone who has some Hayward 1.5" hex bulkheads I need 5:rolleyes: I kind of ordered the wrong ones oh well.

Wanted to say thanks to John and Brian from Kingfish Aquarium and Design, Gabriel, and all my friends and their friends for coming to help get the tank in!!

Thats a big fork lift! how much to rent it?

I love story telling pics :) keep it coming

yea it was expensive about $400 for the day they didn't have any normal sized forks so I had to get the big daddy one lol

Tank looks great. Thanks for the sharing the pics.

Do you have the tank resting directly on the plywood deck, or did you insert an additional cushion layer (styrofoam, neoprene, etc) atop the plywood ?

I look forward to watching your progress.

The tank is directly on the plywood it took us quite a while to level it but good thing I got a stand with leveling feet it was a life saver b/c that room slopes pretty bad in one corner.

John and/or Brian,

Is that 1/2" glass tempered or heat strengthened ?

Thanks

John from Kingfish here and a few quick notes about Brian's tank.

The tank is actually 1/2" glass with the front panel being starphire. Then the whole tank is eurobraced using 3/4" acrylic.

The other big one is that the tank is actually being manufactured by Acrylic and Glass Exhibits (AGE). Their website is here www.acrylicandglassexhibits.com

I'll be following this thread ;)

Dont know you can email the company I'm sure he can tell you

Brian, all the equpments are going under the stand? Did you upgrade anymore toys besides your monster carx? Looks like the chiller is going right outside that window? Man I'm looking forward to see the plumbing.

Awesome pics moving your tank onto your stand. Shows everyone here what it takes after it comes off the truck. I guess I was very fortunate b/c they actually brought in the tank w/ stand to my living room.

Have a safe and Happy Holiday,
James

Chiller is going outside as well as my water storage. Most of the equipment will go under the stand to give me more walking room behind the tank.

No new toys yet lol I'm still having a problem in placing my skimmer, I'm going to be trying to figure out how to install it today as well as finish all the plumbing I can get done.

Most of the electrical is done later on tonight if I get some progress done I will take some pictures.

plumbing the closeloop has not been fun.

Also I smashed my finger pretty good ripping a large piece of my nail off so that slowed me down a bit :D

Have you bought any Live Rock yet? Just curious what you plan to use :)

I have a lot of tonga branch and lalo select as well as some large Kaelini Tonga pieces. I also have a lot tonga branch that is has been dry for a few years now that I can add.

My wife is the rock architect, she is gifted at it all I can do is make a rock pile lol

she plans on 3 large islands and two smaller ones with lots of sand between and up front.

Thaks everyone for following along!

Brian smashed his finger pretty good cutting 1.5" PVC. Anyone wondering how to plumb a system this big REALLY needs a saw.

Post more pictures I want to see what you've done since I left!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

John
