and what are you spot feeding the LPS with? I have one that loves small pieces of shrimp.

I spot feed with the same food that I feed the fish with as there are some large chucks of shrimp as well as some small particles for all the other lps corals to munch on lol

You have amazing coral coloration with traditional husbandry! I hope I can get half the colors you do! I'm sticking with traditional husbandry as well.

Keep them awesome pics coming! :)

Thanks! and I'm watching your thread too

Thanks, so you've noticed the drab colors on my frags  I don't have many fish right now, but still trying to force feed them! :D

Love the tank, just found your build thread after seeing many of your photos in the SPS section. If you don't mind a question I couldn't find the answer to in this thread (could have missed it, if so, I apologize for the reduncancy) what salt do you use? And do you think this helps produce the exceptional colors your corals show?

I just switched to reeflux bulbs and use URI actinic to supplement as you do and hope to "one day" approximate your success.

Thanks

Thanks,
I use instant ocean salt, I don't think the salt helps with color much but its a good consistent salt. Colors come from good lighting, really good random flow and stable alkalinity in my opinion as well as good husbandry.

Thanks, Mako. Do you supplement your Mg to get it to that level?

I run zeo mag in my calcium reactor which keeps it there without me having to dose anything. Before that I was dosing a LOT of ESV liquid Mag.

they wouldn't stay higher than 1000 without me dosing liquid mag daily one of the reasons for me to move to the zeo mag. My tank really started using mag after about 8 months.

I haven't checked my potassiums levels before. The main two I check are alk and mag

Thanks, Mako. It's astonishing how beautiful your tank is with such basic husbandry. That is my goal, too :)

Brian, I thought the Rowalith C+ came with Mag. How do you run ZeoMag with Rowalith C+?

I have a question about your stand. You said it was iron? What made you choose iron as opposed to steel or aluminum? I would think that iron would be problematic (weight, rust, etc.)

thankyou
