Hey mako your tank is looking sweeeet. I am in the planning stages of a 220 and was going to go with miracles in glass for the tank. After seeing your tank I think I'm going to have to give
Aquarium Environments a call. I to was a little weary of bonding glass to PVC or acrylic. congrats on the move and keep up the great updates, PicsPicsPics!!!!!

mako, thanks! Make sure you come in your nice car. :) By the way, after seeing you next to your tank in those last pics.. it really puts things into perspective. That sump is HUGE. And so is the tank!

I didn't really realize how big the sump was till I saw the pictures too lol

new filter socks have something in them that make skimmers go nutz. i had it happen once (i don't use socks now) and others have too. sorry to hear about the water everywhere

NICE reactor!! i have the little brother to yours the PF501. got it 1-2months ago and agree it is the easiest to set up. a very very nice unit!

keep the pics coming!
Lunchbucket

I had no idea about the socks doing that but it seems to be a common thing lol

The reactor is rocking along I'm keeping the ph in the reactor at 7 right now just slowly dialing in the reactor to my tank needs right now all my corals are probably not in growing mode b/c of the move but who knows

makoJ:  I would be embarrassed if all I got on the floor was 2 or 3 gallons. I have that much on the floor all the time just from the sweating of my RO/DI system. :D Most of my floods are 25 - 50g.

LOL I'm glad that's all it was in my old house I once left my 300gpd ro/di unit running all night (it was before I installed a float switch with psi cutoff switch on the ro/di) and I put about 150gallons of water onto the floor it was not a good morning lol

Looking good Brian. I'm guessing the canopy is going to match the stand? Are you going w/ modern look?

James

I'm going to go with a solid oak wall with cabinet doors...still trying to run down someone to help me out on this but hopefully it will be soon.

Thanks! can say enough good things about this tank its extremely well built.
I will have some updates hopefully tomorrow I just got in my 3 other lumenarcs and the rest of my vho bulbs so I'm installing them tonight.

How do you like the acrylic euro bracing? I'm talking with them about building a tank, but I think I would prefer glass bracing over the acrylic.

I've had both and I like acylic better for one reason it doesn't have sharp edges

Time for an update:

the rest of my lumenarc's and bulbs came in.
so my lighting now consists of:
4- 400watt reeflux 10k's
4- 6ft VHO URI Super actinics
4-24" VHO URI Super actinics

Nice. That light rack is definitely sweet and the corals look like they are doing quite well. That bird's nest is freakin' awesome. :D

still waiting on some small items to come in for my aqua controller and still need to get the wall up and clean up all my cords.

I pulled the vortechs out and put in two Tunze 6100's but I turned them off b/c I created a sand storm its going to take me a long time of playing with there location and direction to get them to work out in this tank. But hopefully in due time I can get the sand and the Tunzes to be friends:D

LOL @ your wife's post :D. Mine spends almost as much time on these forums as I do, and even more on the coral vendors sites, but she has yet to post anything (and yes, she has my login and password for RC :)).

As for those overflows, I have just one word : SEXY :D

very very nice... did you go with those because you didn't have the room to use a durso ? I almost want to order 2 for our tank just for the "cool factor" :)

lol my wife is the same she is always checking out RC and surfing the online vendors

had room for some durso's but I've never been really happy with them I've used the cj standpipes on my last 3 tanks and have always been happy so I will always use them

very cool. how do you keep them clean internally?

they come apart nothing is glued and I've never seen them get clogged nor has the creator of them so I have never had to clean any of the ones I have owned.
