Thanks, any time man! Had to copy you and join the Deltec club! :D

Here is how I covered up the nozzles for the closed loop I want the zoo's to over grow and cover them up

and here is a close up of one of the "babies" I have from my multiflora linkia one of about 8 I don't know if all of them made it into the big tank but I've seen 3 so far

hopefully the rest of my lighting will be in tomorrow and I will take some updated shots.

got the calcium reactor online today and have to say it was the easiest calcium reactor to setup that I have used Deltec thought of everything.

There is even a cap to block the circulation tube for when your pouring in the media.

Well I will do my best to take a lot of shots tomorrow.

Invincible,

I have always been inspired by your tank and any time you want to take a tank tour of Austin please don't hesitate to call! I do ask that you wait until we give Brian's tank sufficient time to grow and that several of our big tanks are installed!

John

PS: Brian hasn't finished his lighting because of me FYI. Lumenarcs have been in short supply and high demand apparently as it's taking longer than usual to get them in. Oh and Brian, what Tunze's are you going to add for more flow (like more flow is necessary with the 2" swell coming off the top of your tank haha :bum:

John, thanks for your kind words! They mean a lot to me. I will definitely take you up on that offer. Maybe some of the guys from Houston can take a ride to Austin. I have been to Austin many times. Hopefully summer time will be perfect. By then, my new tank will be up and running and you guys can come visit the Houston crew. :)

I didn't even know you had a new tank in the planning! I'd love to go see you and Naka's tank in Houston and even visit a former austinite Ben (Dak8ngel).

Do you have a thread started for your new tank? I'd love to look at the specs!

PS: If your new tank is anything close to the old one we'll have to charge frag admission into austin haha

Mako,

I was wondering how you would compare the Dart and Hammerhead in terms of noise levels? I know the Dart's are virtually silent, but can't seem to remember anybody's comments on the Hammerhead or Barracuda.

Your thoughts?

We don't have a hammerhead or barracuda running (they are both on a shelf at the moment), but I are using a Sequence 4300 SW for our return, and I have to say that it is pretty darned quiet.

I'm starting with 2 vortechs first and going to add tunzes as needed I have 8 streams if needed :D the closed loop is some KILLER flow

Hammerhead is only slightly louder its still basically silent never seen a pump this large even come close to the low noise level in any brand.

Well the new house was saltwater baptized today:rollface: I changed out the old filter socks and and put in new ones and for some reason the skimmer went nuts and dumped about 2 or 3 gallons onto the floor and before I could get it cleaned up the wife took some incriminating photos lol

the black sheet hanging from the ceiling is there to help block the light until I can get the wall built. I have a cabinet maker coming on Friday to see if my plan can be built.

a few pictures of the calcium reactor installed and rocking along....have to say this is the easiest one I have ever set up!
its being controlled with a pinpoint ph controller.

Actually I dont have a thread just yet, but i do have everything written down. I have more information written down than anyone would need. Once the tank comes in any day now, I will let you know. PM me your personal email address .

mako, thanks! Make sure you come in your nice car. :) By the way, after seeing you next to your tank in those last pics.. it really puts things into perspective. That sump is HUGE. And so is the tank!

new filter socks have something in them that make skimmers go nutz. i had it happen once (i don't use socks now) and others have too. sorry to hear about the water everywhere

NICE reactor!! i have the little brother to yours the PF501. got it 1-2months ago and agree it is the easiest to set up. a very very nice unit!

keep the pics coming!

You've got one of the old Baldor 4300?? I have one too. Great pump. Not quite enough flow for my return needs, so I switched to a Hammerhead, but I may turn the 4300 into a NW.

makoJ:  I would be embarrassed if all I got on the floor was 2 or 3 gallons. I have that much on the floor all the time just from the sweating of my RO/DI system. :D Most of my floods are 25 - 50g.

Looking good Brian. I'm guessing the canopy is going to match the stand? Are you going w/ modern look?

James
