There was an itsey bitsy teeny.... Bandit

Question.

This fish has no fear. The other tiny angels I've raised have always stuck mostly in the rock.

She on the other had spends a lot of time swimming out in the open or along the bottom of the tank by the glass.

Is this common with tiny bandits? A quarter could probably cover her.

She does swim in the rock work and around it but definitely out and about.

She definitely picking at stuff. So appears to be eating along the track of my other angels.

Thanks for any of you observations.

A week old.... To me that is.

Oh well a week has gone past. She has taken some interest to cyclopeez when I feed the tank but not that much.

More doing what I expected. Swimming all around and picking at the rock.

Also on the Friday after I got her I noticed something might have nipped her rear fin. Happy to say that looks like it all grew back and she is doing great.

Fingers still crossed.

Funny how fast fish can recover.

We bought a small Chevron from a collector a while ago and it had a big chunk missing from a bite.

After 2-3 weeks in QT it was all healed up :)

She is beautiful!

I just got an itsy bitsy teeny weeny Cherub Angel barely an inch long. No matter the species I love Angel fish and especially when they are small like this. But she is keeping my tank awake LOL. Needs to find her spot for bed.

Ok. So I've been thinking about this the past week... Where are you getting cyclopeeze?

Also, how's your little girl doing? :)

I've been purchasing at our local lfs. It now comes in cubes rather than a stick. I normally stock up so I haven't bought it in awhile.

I hate to even say this but I think my little lady didn't make it.

Sunday night she was swimming all around acting like she had been. Monday night I was gone for work but my wife saw her. Tuesday when I got home I couldn't find her and I haven't seen her since. Unfortunately my tank doesn't give up its dead.

So I'm somewhat in denial. I also don't want to question why she would have passed as she acted exactly like all of my other baby angels have. Do I regret not Qting, no I think I would have had a hard time with that as what I did observe her eating/ picking at was the live rock. I guess the only good thing out of this is I didn't have her long enough to develop the bond I have with some of my other angels. They each have a distinct personality.

Just have to start the bandit fund over. Also this time around I'm going to be very specific in acquiring one that is 2 inches, not smaller or bigger.

In hind sight with this one I paid up front so when I got her I was a little or a lot worried when she was smaller than a inch. I couldn't just send her back.

It is nature

Hate to hear that. I've been considering getting a Bandit, but I'm not sure I could handle the loss. I about had a breakdown when I lost my first Goldflake...

Yes I hope so too but based on how she was is doubtful.

Just focused now on a tank upgrading and a beautiful Conspic, oh and a juvenile Regal

Are you going to quarantine next time?

Think maybe it was a bullying or food competition issue?

So sorry to hear that... beautiful fish... hopefully just hiding...

When they are that small they need almost constant attention, couple that with the price of the tiny ones and it makes it a tough pill to swallow

No if it was a little larger yes. As Dmorty had said they need constant attention or more like constant food source hence the reason adding to it my display.

Tough pill to swallow.... No bullying. That was my main worry when adding her.

Could have been any number of issues.
