Thermometer

Seams like a simple question but does anyone make a quick glance thermometer that's worth anything? When you read the reviews of what is out there it seems like there not very good. I don't feel the need for a fancy apex type system I just want to be able to check temp at a glance.

I have a Cooper, very similar to the one shown, that is the best way to really double check all your equipment.

I was thinking something that you could leave in all the time. I give everything a quick check before work. My heater used to have a digital readout but it died. Some of those don’t have very good reviews ether. One of the most important pieces of equipment and it seems the quality is lacking.

I've never had a problem with a simple floating thermometer... well besides the suction cup letting go after a while... or my urchin hauling it around with him

I've even used that stick on strip that goes on the outside of the tank with great results.. Its as accurate as needed

I have 3 or 4 of these. One in each tank and a spare. They are all at least 25 years old, and other than the worthless suction cup, work great. I just have to figure out where it's floated to when I want to check it.

I use ranco etc temp controllers for my heaters. They have a long history and are well regarded. Not overly expensive and will save your tank in the case of a heater malfunction. Easy to read display.

Then... every tank has a floating thermometer. Cant go wrong there!
