Thinking about an anemone

Ive been thinking wbout getting an anemone for a while now for my 20g long. Ive never had one before so dont really know much about them. I have 2 ocellaris clowns and a yellow watchman in there. Theres no coral but i have a 2 bulb T5 i use from my 60 cube because i didnt need it anymore. The tanks been up for a year and a half now and perimeters are all good. Do you think i could get one?

Thanks

Your lighting is insufficient to sustain a host anemone. Invest in either a more robust T5 fixture, a good LED fixture or metal halide before even considering an anemone.

+1. I have a dual T5 fixture I keep as a back up and I couldn't even keep a soft coral if wanted it to, much less an anemone. Buy a nice LED light for $60-$100 on eBay or Craigslist (or local reef club) and you will be good to go.

My 60 cube has a coralife MH but i have a lot of corals and wouldnt want them to get hurt by the anemone. I read that if they die they nuke your tank? Is that true?

Sounds harsh, but until you can make an adequate investment, you simply should refrain from keeping host anemones. Not sure if you will be able to swing it for $70, but you may be able to find some used MH or T5 fixtures for something in the ballpark.

Yes probably find some MH used in that price but they are expensive to run. Electricity wise. But if they would get you through for a while might be the best option
