I am wanting to have a male and female mandarin in my 180 gallon. i am worried it wont be large enough for two. what do you guys think? i have no wrasses and will not be getting any. the only other fish i have are bigger fish like tangs, triggers, angels, soon to be puffers and a few smaller clownfish and medium sized chromis. the sump is a 40 breeder with a good size refugium in it with lots of rock and a variety of macro. the DT has about 200-225 lbs of live rock in it.

180 should be more than enough if there are no other pod pickers.

I had a young pair for about a year in a 25 gallon tank. They got along in there even if it wasn't enough food for the female to produce eggs on a regular basis.

Now I have them in my 100 gallon tank and they are doing fine. Both have grown quite a bit, especially the male. The female looks often like a balloon an the spawn at least every other evening.

The other fish in the tank are my Sumatra Regal pair, a pair of percula (+a little one) and a single male each of a Bluestripe Pipefish and Starcki Damsel.

I have a pair in my 150 and do not have a fuge. been in there a year no problem. They both eat frozen Mysis though and once every 2 months I re add pods.

It's a Niger trigger. Very peaceful has not bothered anything except of course shrimp. He doesn't nip at any other fish.

I have a pair in my 75,they both starting eating frozen within 6 months. My tank was mature,it had been up and running for 3 years before adding them.
