I think he's full grown, prolly about 3" from tip-to-tip and they say 2.5" is about full grown for these guys.

Awesome fish man.

keeping a 13" tang in a 135 gal is way too small for a fish that big of that species inmy opinion. You ,may have very well been part of the reason for your tang became a stressed out killer. I'm not saying they don't become aggressive, but that tank is way too small. However, if that is one of your last pics, and assuming that is a 135g, which would be 18" wide, that fish is no where near 13". Sorry, but it's just something that is noticable. Beautiful fish just the same, but one that should have been in a bigger tank and your fish might still be alive, if in fact it is/was 13" at least.

oh, and that puffer is beautiful. :D

Bro,

He came from a 300G where he was terrorizing the fish in there. It has NOTHING to do with the size of my tank. He's not dead, he's happily terrorizing the fish in a 500 gallon now. He's just an a-hole fish. Mine if not the first regal i've heard of becoming agressive when it reaches a certain size. Please mind you business, thanks chief!

Also, people stop just posting pictures of "decent sized fish". This thread is for FULL GROWN, i'm not the only one who has stated this. Please keep on topic....

Yes full grown as in a set limit from live aquaria,TFP, fishbase, adn etc.

This thread isn't the brightest if their were known full grown fish you may have no replys

LukFox - out of curiosity.... what types of eel are they, how big are they, and what are the dim's of your tank..... it looks "big" ;)

Here is my "nearly" full grown Male crosshatch with a Very large Emperor behind him...both are the beefers of the tank.

What's with the 'tude? You started a public thread...it's anybody's business.

Anyways, so did this tang grow to full size in the 300g tank, or was it purchased that way? If it grew, how long did it take to get that big?

First eel is a Brazilian horned dragon eel (Muraena pavonina) and he's about 20". Second is a fire coral moray (Gymnothorax miliaris) and is about 24". The third is a dwarf moray (Gymnothorax melatremus) and is 12". All relatively small species as far as eels go (:. The tank is a bowfront, so it's 6 feet long, but the width is 18" on the sides and in the middle it's 24" wide.

That first dragon eel is spectacular..... cool fish.....

Its just that when you see that type of fish and read "full grown" next to it, you expect it to be 3-4' plus..... which would have made the tank HUGE......

Very nice set up.... very nice fish ;)

I was in a rush while posting and didn't take the time, though I should have. I WISH my tank was that big :D.

That was a nice trio of Morays!
Man I miss going scuba diving. But I thought one was a gold-flecked moray. Beautiful fish!

Dan dude, you've got issues if you can't take criticism from fellow reefers on a general thread, among other things.

in all fairness, there really is no such thing as a full grown fish, they grow until they die, so if you have pics of a dead fish that would technically full grown.

give the guys a break, if you are not posting pics of "full grown" fish, dont bash others for posting fish you do not consider so.

Here's my Black Tang about 8"+. Great eels and that Crosshatch is great as always Campbell. Regards, Tim
