I have a lux meter, got it from a friend who just happen to have one at his place.... It reads from 1-2000 at three settings, x1, x10 and x100
According to the manual,
x1 is to measure 1-1999 Lux
x10 is to measure 2000-19999 Lux
x100 is to measure 20000-50000 Lux
First two setting reaches max for measuring the MH light...
I have 250W DE 20K XM on a PFO HQI ballast..... These are the readings I am getting on the meter....
At glass 1200
At water level 3" from the glass 800
At 5" below water 400
At 10" below water 100
I figured the conversion factor is 20000+15x(reading) as the lux reading, am I right? And the lux to par conversion for MH (think I saw it come where) is 0.01887. Using these conversions I get these par values...
At glass 717
At water level 603
At 5" below water 490
At 10" below water 405
All measurements are straight below the bulb, does this sound about right or am I wrong? Tks.
