Yea I read it. I'm talking to Randy now on some possible reasons this is happening. It has been off for about 15 hours till I find out what is causing this wierd mouth reaction.

Ok. It's just odd because it is like our tongues are going dry and they just feel wierd. I guess it could be something else in our house. Only thing I changed is the dryer beads, luft pump, and the ozone.

I guess I'll have to investigate.

Thanks guys.

I got the same problem like you, so I'm selling my Sander Ozoner 50mg to go back to UV.

That is odd, very odd since I had (3) Fresh air by Ecoquest (link below), duct UV light for forced hot air and ozone for my reef. Never had anything but a strong smell when I sanitize a room. The three units are good for 9,000 sq ft house and I am only at 2,500. Nevermind the UV and ozone on my tank.

in the end, I get no weird tastes in mouth, no burning of thoat no nothing.....

I would say if the unit is operating correctly, it is not that.

AG, the numbers are nothing new here. These have been out for years. The ozone will deplate very fast and unless you have a 500 mg ozone in a 10 x 10 room, should not be an issue.

I can put my ozone for my room on max and you will not get any side effects. Max is over 350 mg.

do you think it would be completely safe to run it 24/7 in my bed room..where my tank is?
am not smelling or comlaining about any thing ....I just wanna play it safe.

My air purifier puts out 565mg/hr and hasn't killed me,,,,,,yet! That's set up near the cold air return in the center of the house with 2100 sq ft per floor though. You just set them so the first sniff notices ozone then when you try to get a 2nd smell you can't. I believe that output is actually for 1500 sq. ft house though.

AG, yes it is safe, very safe. Now if you ozone machine is not operating correctly is a different story. Just put carbon on top of your skimmer if you smell ozone. I know I do not use carbon on top of my skimmer since it is fine. I use low and steady mv per hour so the 17 mg is nothing on my 75.

Again, not being negtive at all so I hope people do not think so. All I am trying to say is the ozone is safe if you use it correctly. I also want to play it say with my new borns.

DrBDC I do the samething every 6 month to sanitize the duct work. Put two units on high for 2 hours. But the UV helps alot now.

You have a UV for in house? I'll have to check in on those. When I first got my purifier I used to keep that thing cranked high and everyone thought it smelled like a pool house! Surprised it didn't bother me and that was in a condo with 650 sq. ft per floor which had to have the concentration pretty high. Sure took care of seasonal allergies though. Occasionally I did notice a little bit of eye irritation now that I think back on it. Oh well, I lived!

Now I have it set where I don't even smell it though and rely more on the ionization. The brand I have does it with radio waves vs. needle ionization so it's effective in a 50 sq. ft. radius through the walls whereas a needle style is like a flashlight, if it hits it, it ionizes it but not around corners etc. They used to sell an ozone measuring device that you could use to keep it at the .05 ppm level and it would help to tune it low enough. The big difference between air purification levels and our ozone generator leaking is that the air purifier has a high cfm fan to disperse it. If someone is having an odor from their ozone, they should put a fan in the area to help keep local concentrations down. .05 is about the level you'd get in the deepest part of the Canadian forests and can actually be very beneficial for molds, allergens, various chemicals. There is a debate on this at the low levels so if I am trying to do something like that I put it in the chosen room and close the ducts and blast it for a day or so. It will def. kill mold and remove odors.

Are you using UV & Ozoner in your tank? Both the same time.

No...only ozone on my tank but I know some that run both on there reef tanks..

I run ozone and UV in my home! :)

Would anyone mind taking a big whiff of it and maybe breathing some in through your mouth and see if you get a wierd sensation in your house?

I guess I'll leave it off till Monday and try it again. This sensation has been for 2 days now. This morning it was better till I went in myliving room and ate a brownie. Maybe this brownie mix is laced!

I think those brownies thrlride shipped me bust of been pot brownies! I swore he said he baked them in a pot but maybe he said the brownies were "baked" with pot.

lol.

My kids don't notice anything. It's just wierd. I'll let this thread go toward it's normal course.

thanks for the info. yeah i gonna call and ask for a replacement. so i guess the probe is not suppose to be submerge, or can i be confident that this was a defective unit. as a precaution the new one will not be submerged all the way, as an experiment.

I submerge all my probes. I don't see why not. Might want to ask their technical support. Mine didn't come with suction cups so if they don't want it submerged, they need to provide them IMO.

I cut a spare piece of styrofoam from a shipment(3"x5") and place a hole or 2 depending on how many probes you want and put them in the sump to float(about 1/2 way through the styrofoam.
