thrlride,
Congrats on the Sanders unit it's top quality and efficient. Just to let you know, 400 mv would be ideal setting.
I have mine to cut off at 385 and then it gradually climbs to 400 + but never past 430.
Highest I ever got it was 426 mv with no ill effects. I think that you ORP will climb up and down in the 380 to 420 range.
So keeping it at 400 would be perfect in my opinion.
I run mine with the 500 g airdryer and I'd like to purchase another so I can change it on the fly when it is exhausted.
To give you a benchmark on the beads, I have had the unit for little less than 1 month and only a quarter of the beads are used up.
Remember that your Ozone should only run short spurts in the day, not 24/7. This is for best practices overall, especially since all the reports of Ozone being hazardous to the homes.
Until those reports come back in July stick to best practices especially since you have family at the home.
Your controller should shut off your unit, at night where all parameters are stable, no feedings no photosynthesis etc.
Mine shuts off my ozone about 11pm, it fires it back up when I come home and feed my fish which is about 6pm. It stays on until 11 pm as the ORP finally hits it's target zone.
Your ozone is going to get accustomed to you, let me explain. If you feed on a regular basis and do water changes on certain days, you will know what days and times your ozone comes on. You will be able to adjust it accordingly to what you like; then it does the rest; it's truly that easy and amazing.
I have crystal clear water and notice that after a certain time after feedings my ozone and skimmer pull out excess nutrients.
Hope all this makes sense....
