Thumbs up for Ozone!

Just wondering if anybody has experienced ill effects on Monti Digitatas while using ozone. I've had problems over the last year with digi's STNing and having very little color and/or polyp extension. Lately, the colors have been starting to come back, but yesterday, one nearly completely RTN'd. The only thing that has changed was that I cleaned my ORP probe and the ozone (which hadn't been on for awhile due to the dirty probe) started up again. I don't have the controller set all that hign....350. I don't have nudi's or any other monti eating pest....so that's not the answer....and my acros are fine. The issue is just with digi's....even my caps are fine. Could this be related to the ozone?

I think those brownies thrlride shipped me bust of been pot brownies! I swore he said he baked them in a pot but maybe he said the brownies were "baked" with pot.

lol.

My kids don't notice anything. It's just wierd. I'll let this thread go toward it's normal course.

ssshhhh, that was between you and me.

Digi's seem to thrive in even lower lighted, higher nutrient systems... maybe, with the ozone and the more efficient and drastic removal of nutrients, the digi's aren't as happy. Is it possible that if you were to slow the increase of your ORP to 20-30 mV per day that everybody might adapt more fairly?

It wasn't a drastic change at all. After I cleaned my probe, I readjusted the setting on the controller so that the ozone unit just came on....and it happened within a day. It may not be related at all, but it seems odd.

The Venturi on a skimmer will pull alot more air then the ozone can dish out. That way it pulls the ozone and whatever air is available.

I got a aquaC with the john guest,would I benefit from a T fitting?
I'm still deciding sanders or some other brand.

Show and tell.

Here is the front of the enaly. Look at the label near the bottom of the image. That is a somewhat hard plastic label and it is peeling off from the heat.

Here is a rear shot. You can see above the rear label where the plastic is deformed.

Here is a close-up of the rear. You can easily see in the reflected light how much it has become misshapen.

They emailed me back questioning how it is doing. I told them it was starting to melt so I unplugged it. I doubt that's normal.

the problem I had when using a T is the the pump w/Venturi pulls most air from the part of the T that is open, and not the side with 03.

Any help?

I imagine your skimmer is pulling as much ozone as it can.

I would say yes since all air goes through the ozone with air dryer etc. I would like to add a tee but never got it to work.

Quick question: are all ORP probes interchangable as far as their interfaces go? For example, could I use an American Marine probe on a Red Sea Plus Ozonizer?

u could but it might not get the same reading.
JME, i have changed some around & have notice different values on the units

I use a pin point on my Red Sea. Only thing that i dislike is the weekly cleaning; but that is with all probes.

So far it is pretty steady and pin points are cheap(er). Around $55 to your door.

HOw do you like your Red Sea unit? which one do you have? ANd where did you order your pin point probe from?
thanx,

Cubman

so far I like it. I am runnning a 50 mg on my 75. I will post the site i ordered my probe from tonight; at work right now.

thnx. I was considering getting a Milwaukee controller and linking that to some other ozonizer, but for the money and space, the Red Sea unit seams like a good deal.

Just a note, they recommend cleaning with alcohol not vinegar. They didn't say vinegar is bad but they said they have never heard of cleaning with vinegar.

My orp last night was over 400 again without ozone so I called them today about the probe being cleaned so often.

Can one of you guys do a test? They told me drinking water aka RODI should be a orp of 0. Can one of you test it on your RO water and see if it registers that?

Thanks
