Thumbs up for Ozone!

IMO no 405 would be hard to get with out o3.

How long sicne you cleaned it? IMO the probes take some time to settle in right after cleaning.

My ORP last night made it to 393 mv with ozone. My controller then shut it off and it hoovered at this range all night even till the morning before I left to work.

405 mv without ozone is possible but not likely....

NP......BTW your little one is growing quick :D

I wish I could add some leather corals to my girls room to stunt their growth

Yes she is! She is growing like a weed.

All this time I'm online I've never ready about leather's stunting coral growth, is that true?

leathers produce a toxin that does stunt certain sps growth . I have seen it many places including Calfo's old forum.

Well, I broke down and ordered the enaly unit anyway. How long has everyone experienced shipping times with them?

BTW, clkwrk, where are the tunze's? You've done a great job of hiding them in your tank!

 I wish ........They were out for the pics I took that day. You can see 2 of the mounts and the tunze magnet is off also .

Yeah, I don't have the funds for the sander. If the enaly doesn't work as hoped I will cut my losses and save up for the sander unit and an air pump.

The T fitting and check valve were ordered last week.

The ORP controller is reading 284 now. I wonder if it will stay there until the generator is installed.

It very well may do so . Although you will see it drop during feedings, raise at night and drop after the lights are on and drop with water changes or kalk addition.

Thanks Fred! Not that it really matters, but was that business days? Considering we are awefully close it should be near the same.

took my enaly unit 5 days to get & 4 months to hook up LOL
works great though.
i run the unit on an MTC ozone reactor.

the reactor is behind the Co2 tank.

thrlride, mine also took five days

well i installed my orp controller this past friday (5:00 pm), placed the probe in the sump. by sunday around 6:00 pm it had leveled off to about 324-325 mv, so i decided to test the enaly. within 3 minutes the orp shot up to 375 mv, at which point my controller shut off the ozone. I concluded that my sump is too small an area to provide an accurate reading, so i moved my probe to inside the tank, to about 2 inches from the sand and slightly to the left of the return flow. by 7:00pm i had a reading of 348-350 mv, so i decided to test the ozone again. Here's the funny thing, the controller let the ozone run for about 10 minutes to 375 mv. literally two seconds after the ozone was shut off however the orp reading shot up to 610mv! for the next three hours i watched my tank to see any signs of stress, fortunately no one was harmed, everything seemed like nothing happened. however the orp took a while for go down. by 9:00am the next day (today) the orp was down to 385mv.

I dont understand what happened. for the moment im concluding that the probe is not balanced out yet, since according to the meter the tank had an orp reading above 400 mv for most of the night, yet nothing died, so i decided not to even touch the setup until friday.

anyone have any ideas what might have happened? how sensitive is the probe? right now i have it right against the back wall, however the current could bang it about a bit by the adjacent rockwork. is this a problem, or should i only be concerned about the very end of the probe (the part that was covered with plastic when i first received the probe)?

i recently broke my camera so unfortunately i cant post pics yet but will as soon as possible. but yeah the 72 bowfront is pretty sweet. thanks for the help and sorry for the long post

thrlride-- I ordered it on a Sunday received it on a Friday. A couple days latter they sent me an email asking if I received everything.

Mike--Way to go. Thanks for the persistence. I will feel a lot better with an ozone safe check valve, even if the tee is not.

Fred
