That looks great Ed. I can see why someone would want it even if they had the Red planet. Well done for doing this coral justice. :D

I posted a link to my tank thread Rather then re posting the same pic here of my
RP and other red table.
Can't prove linage so can't claim to be either so I really should claim name in my thread. Both been in tank for 3 + years and both were almost lost to aefw. The smaller one is more pink tips ( slow grower for me)and the larger one that I brought as a RP is larger and fast growing.

I was thinking that in 9 months it went from the top two photos to that one Ed posted, pretty good growth once it got going!!!

BTW, Thanks for all the kind words regarding my colony :). I bet there are other gorgeous colonies out there, people just aren't taking pics of them or they aren't posting. I have shared a number of frags, so I know there are folks out there with this TDF.

For what its worth, my Red Planet turned purple in my tank...weird huh?? I had it really low though, so maybe that is why.

Tweaked, looking forward to seeing your pictures in the future.

Yea! Someone locally to me. PM and hope you have a frag for sale.

Thanks Sahin.........having owned this colony and also seeing plenty of red planets in person ,I don't see them looking similar at all.

Coralite structure, growth and colors are all different.

Here is my frag that I bought today. I totally agree that the color is different then the RP . The TDF has blue and the RP don't have blue.

The blue must be really hard to pull out of this coral then as there are a lot of people who have pics of TDF that have no blue on the coral in their tank. I know there are multiple strains going around though so that may be an issue.

Like people say that there is 2 different TDF , 1 that looks a lot like the RP and another 1 totally different. Like someone posted earlier that the real TDF is totally different then the RP. You can see in the pic post earlier that the colony has blue too.

How did you manage to get this named coral in HK?

Here is a good side/by/side comparison. The TDF is in the middle and I had it for about a year and half. The RP on the right I started with a small frag back Nov. The PC Superman I started with a small frag from my main colony when it was STNing last summer.

This variant is a slow grower and not much more impressive than than the RP.
