I just finished reading this entire thread. Absolutly amazing. I am inlove with you Maxi Mini Watermelon. Where did you get him?
I do not have a tank yet, I am thinking about getting a 28 Gal Biocube. I'm not sure if I will get the HQI tank or not; however, I will possibly get that particular tank.
Just in case I do not get the HQI will that watermelon do alright in the stock tank?
Also, I read that you solg frags. Do you still do that? Where could I look at what you are selling.
I'm in a pretty remote area of NC and there arn't any clubs to trade/buy, at least none that I have found. :)

All of my nems have moved lower or into a more shaded area, so they don't appear to like intense light. I don't know if this is common behavior (I can't find a lot about these guys on the internet).

I don't have any intention of making anymore clones from the batch I have now. Sorry! I know they are impossible to find. Hopefully they'll be introduced more into the hobby with increased demand from hobbyists.

I think the best place to find maxi mini nems are from fellow reefers (that's where mine come from). I don't see them at LFSs and websites, tho every now and then I'll see very bland colored ones pop up. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I've been looking for more myself without much luck.
 
You have very well behaved cleaner shrimp! Mine would have been all over the maxi mini's for the mysis - those shrimp never seem to be willing to pass up an easy meal.
 
DeMartini - They don't split much unfortunately. Mine haven't split at all. I wish they did!

inktomi - My shrimp knows who's the boss.
 
Thank you! I'm definitely running out of space on the bottom.

I'm still thinking about my SPS stocking plans for the rockwork, but the SPS phase will commence very soon! :)
 
The problem with these mini anemonies are that they arent sold on sites, and the people that have them wont sell them. The only site i found is selling it for 300-400$ which is downright outrageous.
 
Yeah, not sure why LFSs/wholesalers/divers aren't bringing them in. But considering how impossible they are to find, it makes sense that people, including myself, are holding onto theirs more tightly. And considering how unlikely it will be to find another nice maxi mini on the market, I think they will demand a high price. At least that's how I justify the amount I spent on mine. :)

But yeah, $300-400 is a lot. They better be REALLY nice!
