Hey, I may want in, what are the advantages of joining. I live near Boone and work in Des Moines. I am starting to frag some softies myself and want to get into some sps and lps and learn more.
First off, welcome! There's all kinds of benefits to being a member of The GIRS. you can save money at participating pet shops by showing them your member card, sell stuff at frag auctions, get to learn tricks of the trade from guest speakers, and go on group trips. Being its only $20 a year it basically pays for itself by just being able to network with fellow reef enthusiasts.
If you would like to see a list of upcoming events check out the thread at the top of the forum. It is also on out NEW website located at www.greateriowareefsociety.org
And, if you would like to join you can paypal $20 for single or $30 for family to GIRSTreasurer@gmail.com please be sure to include your real name adress and RC nick when paying. You can also d/l the form and mail it, just look on the website for more information.
Looking forward to hearing from you in the future!
