STAG HORN DOMINATE REEF
Well its sad to say but it's time for me to take a break from reefing it's that time of the year when bluefin tuna start biting and dorado start jumping. Hahaha fool u. My tuna fishing trip is coming up 2.5 days on the Islander from SD so just take a little break from reefing. This time I'm going for the big boy 100lbs up. Sold a bunch of stuff to get my gear together and hopefully catch a big one. Any fisherman in this forum? I'm up for yellow tail or tuna fishing anytime

I want to feel seasick lol j/k but got hook since the first El nino hit us in 2003 since then I go out at least once a year. The last few years was the best fishing I have seen. Fish count was in the 100,000 for yellow fin dorado and yellowtail. Cow bluefin are in 1 day range now 300lb plus caught everyday.

Tis the season. My neighbor across the street goes out for a multi day tuna trip every year. Just waiting for the call telling me to come and get some

Ive done fly, lake and pier fishing but never deep water fishing, sounds like fun Anthony!

Beside the swell and high wind it's a blast. It's much more active than fresh water and the fish fight hard. A 30lbs yellowtail will pull u around the boat like nothing. And the scream of the reel when a tuna bite is addicted zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Anthony, try salmon sometime when they’re on their final feeding before heading upstream. They’ll spool you a couple times. Love that sound. Pricey but if you’re a fishing fanatic you should experience it at least once.

Hi Rik
Is it in ca or in Akaska? I always want to have a halibut trip in Akaska may be I can do both.

Living the life! I want to be like you when I grow up. Lol

Will be waiting for the call to come over for ca chien nuoc mam dinner when you get back. Have a safe trip.

I’ve fished salmon in the sounds off Vancouver Is in British Columbia and I’ve also fished king salmon out of the Sacramento River outside of Redding. That fire up there has broken my heart. I love it there

Surf fisherman here, mostly fish for Stripers during the Fall run. I don't go as much as I used to but I also fish from the Kayak for Fluke and Porgy during the Summer. From the end of September to the first week of December pretty much every weekend you'll find me working the surf for Cow Stripers or Gorilla Blues.
Lost my best friend and fishing buddy last November it's going to be quiet fishing alone. He used to talk my ear off when fishing about stuff like historic battles, word origins, just random stuff that would keep me interested if the bite wasn't happening, I will miss him.

This is me working the Surf at Robert Moses Beach Long Island

This is my friend that passed away. Stripers were feeding on Sand Eels
just past the breakers a few years ago. The bite was epic and we were
hooking up on almost every cast.

Good to see another fellow salty from Long Island. I used to fish the
Jones beach long time ago.

Thank you, it caught me by surprise. One day he's fine and the next I'm getting a call from his brother that he passed. Turned out to be related to heart disease.

Jones Beach gets too crowded for my liking even after the Summer. If I'm fishing that area I stay to the West End or further east and fish Tobay.

Good luck on your trip. Got a 120 pound BFT last year on the American Angler. Belly looked like bacon, there was so much fat. Usually fish the Excel, but couldn't resist the trip targeting BFT.

Queen Charlotte Island is an unbelievable experience... I have gone twice...
